He didn’t encourage anyone to get on top of ambulances or anything like that while on stage, he even stopped to get someone help at one point.

Someone said he tweeted to break down gates but I never once saw that tweet either.

Regardless though, a completely fucked up situation. That was the only time I’ve felt unsafe in a crowd even though I was very far back from the main crowd.

If Durst got blamed for Woodstock, Travis is absolutely going to have to accept some level of blame here. He has been criminally charged with inciting crowds previously, people can’t be surprised that this happened.

What insurance company is going to get behind his next arena tour after LN incurs a $100M lawsuit for this event?

The fact that the festival is trying push a narrative that these people died by laced pill overdoses is FUCKING DISGUSTING.

There’s first hand reports of people seeing bodies being trampled.

To put in perspective the crowd surge, I was this far back and the crowd kept moving forward and I had no choice but to move

Man this shit is so sad. When he performed at Gov Ball there were the same crowd issues. I was on the other end of the field thankfully seeing The Gaslight Anthem at the time.

Gonna see a ton of insurance premiums on festivals now which will increase ticket prices. Also, there probably needs to be more barricades than just the split down the middle to manage crowds.

Jesus, I hope Travis gets sued. That shit is unacceptable

travis is 100% culpable. defending him at this point is foolish

I’d argue that the Travis situation is worse than Durst. Like this is his festival right? Like he’s ultimately the boss of this thing and if it had happened during any other act’s set he would shoulder responsibility as well.

Yeah it was def tough reading that and how horrible it was and how they did nothing.

  12. feel like there's plenty of blame to spread around given how awful this is. travis shouldn't have been encouraging reckless behavior especially given past incidents at his shows, live nation I'm sure was trying to maximize profits and hire as few security ppl as possible/take as little preventive action as possible, and the people who pushed forward shouldn't have done what they did obviously either. no one comes out looking good and it sucks and it's so sad.

hopefully there are legal consequences eventually because that's the only thing that's gonna prevent this from happening again: a shit ton of monetary damages awarded to survivors of the victims and to those injured.

Just posted this in the Travis thread but I'll repost here too because I feel like I want to talk about it

This has been really fucking with me, I can't get some of those images out of my head. I think it just hits so close to home because I've been to so many shows like this, including Travis shows. If I lived in the area I probably would have went to this. It could have been me. I don't know, it's really disturbing and I feel absolutely awful for these kids and their families

I can't even imagine how it was if you were actually there, I'm so sorry you went through that @Blainer93

Going to see Silverstein in Chicago in 2 days. Went to my inbox to see if I can find the tickets I ordered and the date of the order was Oct 11 2019... More than 2 years! I didn't think this show would actually end up happening. It's will be fun to go back a year or so and see the predictions that people made and see what came true and what didn't. I do remember some people saying we won't have any tours for 3-4 years.

I saw on Twitter that a couple of Travis fans said that if Travis is responsible for this, then Ariana should have been held accountable for Manchester. I’m sorry, but how utterly disgusting to bring up and compare a tragic event that was out of Ariana and anyone attending’s control to Travis seeing what was going on with reckless fans and continuing the show. Travis is not immune to accountability, it’s just gross to me the amount of things people will do or say to justify their favorite artists actions. I feel so much for the victim’s and their families. Everything that has come out about the situation has made me feel sick.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Comparing a terrorist attack to what happened at Astroworld is a fucking disgusting take...like I don't know how to react to that. It's a shitty comparison and the loss of life in both situations is tragic but one was an Islamic extremist suicide bombing and the other is essentially a riot somewhat coerced by a performer. Ugh...just going to stop there because I feel a bit sick myself tying the two together.

Exactly. It’s such a sick take, I don’t understand the mental gymnastics someone would have to go through to even think of that.

To be fair, we're still not really "Back to normal" as touring bands have exposed breakthrough COVID cases are a LOT more common than might have initially been predicted. That being said, the US numbers trend is encouraging so I'm hopefully this winter will continue that trend.
