Let's hold our breath until we disappear

There was a website for Live Nation seat upgrades I used in 2019. Last I checked it was completely down, but I bet it will come back.

Did you go to Taste of Addison? I saw Flo-rida on Friday and Lit and Hoobastank today. Ran home after Hoobastank and was gonna go back for 3EB, but it started storming again.

  4. how was Lit? i've been wanting so see them foreverrrrr.

Didn’t Lit turn into a bad country band?

  6. Yeah but then they decided that that was weird and confusing to do under the name Lit, so they’re working on a new album that they say is reminiscent of their big one (of course they say that) and the two brothers have a side project for their country stuff.

They were good. I only knew the hits but they kept the crowd interested and covered Tom Petty so that was pretty cool. I was more interested in Hoobastank beforehand, but their set was kind of a drag.

Lmao. Yeah they did play a new song and it was definitely this.

No I didn’t, I was so fearful of the weather turning bad like it did when I went in ‘19 and I was afraid to make the drive up there if it did rain. They’ve been cursed with bad weather these past few years.

It also doesn't hurt playing their home country where they always pack arenas.

Madison Square Garden is teasing a show for this month. A big deal for New York! Someone on Twitter says it’s Foo Fighters.

I really hope I can snag tickets to this. Foo Fighters at MSG as my first concert in almost 2 years will be absolutely epic.

It's nice to see them hit actual home state bands. They did The Maine a few games ago.

If Jim Adkins doesn’t play the set in the gorilla mascot suit. What’s the point?

Foo has to do multiple nights if it's MSG. 50% of that venue isn't even available to the public anyways.

Wasn't MSG selling 15,000 seats for Knicks playoff games last week?

Number of seats in venue does not equal number of tickets available to the general public. There's been a lot written in the past 10 years about arena/ampitheater shows and how a large number of tickets are put directly onto the resale market, reserved for ticket brokers, etc. I've long suspected that MSG being in the middle of NYC has the most corporate hands in the proverbial cookie pool so to speak so when you go to log on even for presales, you're only dealing with like 50% of the capacity. Concerts themselves start at 10k and then can increase based on stage set-up so with all this is mind, it's why MSG is always the hardest arena to get tickets for concerts-wise.

Aside from all the broker/secondary market shenanigans, it's a super convenient spot in the city so you get people from all boroughs usually gunning for shows there. As soon as a band decides to play, say, Barclays in Brooklyn or Prudential in NJ, that turns off a portion of the potential audience as people coming into the city don't feel like taking the extra subway ride to Brooklyn or, as I now live in Brooklyn, going to Penn Station in Manhattan and then getting on another train to NJ is also a pain (for Manhattan residents that trip to Prudential is a bit easier as I did it plenty when I lived in the village).

MSG is also unique in that, due to it being centrally located, a lot of acts are able to include it on their tour stop when they're playing, say, 5k-capacity theaters in other cities. A lot of indie and indie-adjacent bands who do not play arenas all around NA have had headlining dates at MSG (Interpol, Alt-J, Death Cab For Cutie, Passion Pit, Sigur Ros, etc.) Because of the demand for a show like this and since the Foo Fighters themselves have done 2x at Citi Field, I can definitely see this maybe being a residency of some sort.
