can we just have a music czar that announces all tours are cancelled in one post please

 

This thread will be super active when all the bands announce rescheduled dates.

 

silverstein is moving to summer and is almost compeletly re scheduled. kse/abr is moving to the summer too and they are keeping abr on the tour

 

I just don’t know about trying to reschedule when there’s literally no idea how bad this potentially can get in the coming months. Bands pushing back shows only a month are more than likely going to have to do it again.

 

Yeah I don't know why there are shows for this month only being pushed to April/May. Just doesn't make sense.

 

everything in chicago for the rest of the month and all of april and part of may are either postponed or cancelled

 

Everything in march and early April is canceled in LA

 

Yep, I also don't get why certain shows happening this month and next month haven't been cancelled yet. I'm talking shows in 500-1,000 capacity venues. There are shows coming up I want to/planned on going to but wouldn't feel safe going to and I've heard no word from venues or artists about the status of the shows. I know there's still time for late March/April shows to be cancelled/postponed, but I hope they make announcements sooner rather than later.

 

Yeah, I don’t think people are understanding, this is going to get worse before this gets better. Kind of blind optimism to just assume they can reschedule for a month or two later.

 

it's going to get worse before it gets better and dumb people aren't realizing once it gets better, it's going to be because of full measures taken now (which is pretty inarguably way too late) to cancel everything

 

I feel like my birthday is a safe reschedule place. May 19. Anything earlier than that is wishful thinking.

 

There's being a responsible band and doing the right thing to fans, staff, personnel, etc. by cancelling/postponing, then there's The Exploited... The Exploited Refuse to Cancel Tour: F--k Coronavirus, We Ain’t F--king Green Day

 

I don't even have words for that. All I could do is laugh.

 

I legitimately thought this was posted by The Hard Times or something, but is this actually a legit article??

 

They must really need the money

 

because there is a lot of money on the line, contracts, and the entire industry is clawing for dates in a summer/fall schedule that is largely already confirmed or deep in holds. takes a bit of work to determine if shows can even be rescheduled, and in some cases what is said to the public before all parties sign off can have financial ramifications.

 

This will probably get lost in all the COVID-19 posts, but Carnifex said in a livestream that they'll be doing a Hell Chose Me 10 year tour (probably know more details when the Coronavirus bans are lifted).

I mean, bands can try to continue to tour all they want, but they'll all be stopped some way or another by local government and/or venues lol
