I never had any issues with how the original sounded, and Brad Wood did both the original and the new mix, so I'm looking forward to A/Bing them later.
Same, it was fine for what it is. Looks like it's also Dolby Atmos on Apple Music but I turn that off because so many mixes are bad.
Also never had an issue with the original but this new mix has reignited my serious obsession with this record. It's subtle, but I feel there's more midrange in general. Bass and Jeremy's vocals stand out more, too. It especially sounds great on Harbour and Steps. Wasn't going to bother grabbing one of the LPs but love Jeremy's version.
I read something recently where Jeremy wasn’t happy with how it ended up and apparently Brad accidentally deleted or misplaced some of the original takes? So Jeremy had to re record them all and wasn’t happy with it but man I adore this record. I’ll checkout the remaster at some point this weekend
I want to say it was on one of his podcast episodes with one of his guests maybe even Ross Robinson when they were talking about recording stories.
Yeah, this a much more subtle update than I would have thought based on how Jeremy talked about it. Not even sure I would know which is which in a blind test. Album still rules though. Much prefer this to the abysmal 10 year anniversary mix La Dispute did for Somewhere At the Bottom of the River.
HWFG! They played the opening track (I've forgotten it's name) from upcoming record at Outbreak, which was of course absolutely mint. I spoke to Nick briefly after their set and he mentioned a new LP out "early fall."
I was at Outbreak as well. Their set was incredible. Pretty sure Jeremy said the new song was called ‘nobody’s’, I guess it could also be ‘nobodies’ haha.
