The wave is here You a wavey dude anyway, so you already know Ain't no problem, man, the game... You already know how this game thing goes Do your wave You got the official wave man
when the term came out they were in that group, haha also it was defeater not title fight, i fixed it
I think it had more to do with them coming from around the same area and just being friends before making music, more so than the sound of their bands.
i'm not a fan either, but yeah, would honestly say pianos has sort of stagnated in popularity, not sure the last record really skyrocketed them much compared to what they would have if they would have done another screamo record they're probably the most interesting and challenging band of the group anyways
Yeah I do agree with that. They meld that indie and post rock feel in with the post hardcore stuff. Definitely an outlier out of the group, but the most rewarding too
Yeah, per spotify monthly listeners Deafeater @ 75K monthly and Pianos @ 35K. For some reason, thought Pianos was bigger. Also, Emarosa is like 330K monthly listeners. Did not realize they were that big.
Defeater is wonderful but their last record was a snooze. Even though they're bigger than pianos, I still think of the big three as pianos, LD and touché. Those three have collectively put out more great music than any other group of three bands that I can think of in the past 5ish years
I listened to Keep You, TLLA, Wildlife, Rooms, Parting The Sea, and Is Survived By today. Parting is actually really, really good. The others are also brilliant of course. It's been a good day.
yeah its not something Casey and I just made up, its a joke amongst all those bands. Geoff Rickly also kind of helped stir it up, hes often said that he felt like he passed the torch that Thursday carried for so long onto those bands, particularly Pianos LA and Touche.
