Had no idea that so many people thing Wildlife is a better record than Rooms. Wildlife is decent at best. Rooms is a better record in almost every conceivable way, if you ask me. Also, tried to listen to Touche work pre ISB again, didn't get very far.
For me, Wildlife just deals with much more personal and cathartic topics. Struggling with mental illness, the death of a loved one to cancer, the loss of faith, the feeling of wanting to leave after hurting the ones you love, gang violence, the internal struggle of dealing with your own depression and shortcomings, all of that is touched on and handled so well. I'm not saying Rooms doesn't have a lot of themes or isn't cohesive, I just prefer Wildlifes idea of catharsis and emotional cleansing.
ok, I don't post @ the 1975 thread because I'm trying to act civilized - keep that crap away from this thread
Speaking of- I've seen La Dispute live 3-4 times? each time, worst fans. Maybe it is just the area but just a terrible atmosphere/vibe.
Who cares, there's nothing to really talk about regarding this album until it drops. May as well talk about the big 3 of "The Wave"
Palm Dreams is probably the best song this band has ever put out and I'm a pretty big fan of each of their albums. Really excited for this overall.
Meh, that's what everyone and their mom calls it. Hell, fucking Jordan of La Dispute and Geoff of Thursday coined the term. Not really a big deal.
It just means new wave, sounds fine to me. Is Survived By, Keep You, and Wildlife are my favorite from each respective band. Really cool that they're all friends that are close and tour together and do splits
