I think the sonic differences between one album to the next have been incremental and not giant leap. I've enjoyed all of their work so that's not a knock. But I think it's weird to like ISB but not Parting the Seas because I don't even see a HUGE leap stylistically between Dead Horse and ISB that you see from Vancouver to Rooms with La Dispute.
The decade is everything released from 2010 up to now, right? Rooms probably makes my top 15. Hmmm. I want to make that list now.
You and I in Unison is in my top 10 songs of all time. Rooms has nothing that comes anywhere close for me. My top five LD songs would all come from Wildlife though, ha. Maybe Woman (Reading) would be in there.
I like Wildlife more but I can easily see why people like Rooms more. I still think Rooms is fantabulous. It's just a little inconsistent to me and doesn't have the super high highs of Wildlife.
I think Rooms has the higher highs and it benefits a lot from being concise and not super bloated the way Wildlife is. Stay Happy There is my favorite La Dispute song.
Honestly, if Woman (reading) and Woman (in mirror) were considered one song, they might be my favorite song of all time. As it is they'll have to share #2 and #3 behind Pachuca Sunrise.
Stay Happy There is just behind Woman (Reading) for me. The way that song ties everything together is incredible.
