Dealer and Harmlessness are the two albums from last year I still listen to the most. I have a feeling Stage Four will be that album of 2016.
this album was hitting me damn hard on my way home from work earlier today. my deluxe record shipped a day or two ago and i'm hoping it gets here on wednesday as projected
This is warming up to me on second listen. I didnt vibe with it at first, but a fresh new day treated it well. I also want to say that I am also 100% for the holy trinity.
"I made a list of everything I took for granted And I ended up with more than I imagined I've kept it bottled up and to myself in the cellar Kept for my everchanging mental health" Wow I did not expect to like this so much. I've lost my grandpa and aunt earlier this year (alzheimers and breast cancer respectively) and now my other grandpa is on his death bed after his second stroke, so this album is killing me.
I got my LP in the mail today. First off, thank you to Kings Road for packaging it so well because we had a hardcore downpour today and since USPS is as awesome as they are, the carrier decided to leave it on the steps in the rain instead of walking / reaching three feet further and placing it on my covered porch. Outer cover was soaked but the additional insulated cover in the packaging protected the album. Secondly, this is now the nicest album I own. It is literally a hard cover book with gorgeous print and pages. I thought the Postal Service's reissue of Give Up was nice... This is just incredible. And I finally have the lyrics to read along with since I've been putting it off until I got the album.
Holy shit this is fantastic. This reminds me of Pianos Become The Teeth's latest album lyrically. I need to digest this more but New Halloween, Benediction, Palm Dreams and Skyscraper are my favourites.
I've been fortunate enough to be this far in my life to not have anyone in my immediate family pass away from cancer but I know a couple best friends who have had to deal with such situations. This album makes me incredibly thankful and appreciate everyone all the more. What a record
man this is heavy. i listened through for the first time while prepping dinner and kept trying to convince myself that it was the onions i was cutting making me tear up.
Preordered my album from Kings Road and it hasn't shipped yet. Anyways the record is fucking amazing as expected. I'm never disappointed by these guys.
I still haven't received this record yet but I got Beach Slang last weekend. Beach Slang doesn't officially release until this Friday. Step your game up kings road.
Got my copy yesterday, I don't know if I should put it in with my record collection or on the bookshelf haha.
If we read the same review it was so weird. I felt like the review started and before anything was said it was done. Still that's awesome for the band.
Not sure if this was mentioned but during the set friday, before they kicked into a song off stage four, the sun came out out of nowhere after being cloudy all day. Jeremy just stared at the sky and smiled. Super emotional moment
Only gave their past album a couple listens and it wasn't for me. Have given this album a couple of listens today and it's incredible. The closing track is a thing of beauty.
