The second half of Eight Seconds is the standout moment for me so far. When it goes half time and that gorgeous lead guitar comes in combined with the story Jeremy tells. That part reminds me of Deafheaven tbh.
Doesn't hold a candle to Cardinal imo but it's a great album and I can see this winding up in my top 20 at least, which is much more than I could ever say about this band before haha
Did anyone else not get their LP today? The email I got said Saturday and USPS tracking says today, but the status shows it sitting in California for 3 days with no update. I was so excited to get home from work and read the lyrics.
The pain in Jeremy's voice on 'but it's here to stay' in Water Damage is completely heartbreaking, then to follow it up with "and I haven't recovered since" and then Skyscraper is incredible. Seen comparisons about how this is hardcore's Carrie and Lowell or whatever, and I was stunned by that album, but this feels so much more impactful for some reason. Think the relatively straightforward and unambiguous lyrics work so well, both for the concept and the delivery of the vocals.
This album is phenomenal. I like PTSBBAM and ISB but this is the first Touche record I've fallen in love with from the go.
oops forgot it's not allowed here to post something related to something someone else said also was just giving the other side after trevorshmevor's comment not to mention, no one compared them in any way other than "i like this one more" which is a perfectly acceptable thing to do
