My aunt was just diagnosed with lung cancer, she's always been a big part of my life and out of the 6 aunts I have she's the one closest to my mom and me. This album is going to mean a lot to me, I can already tell
I've been fortunate enough that no one close to me has died and yet this album is still making me tear up - I can't imagine what this album will mean to those who have lost close ones.
My mom has had stage four brain cancer for the last two and a half years. If these last two songs are any indication, this will fuck me right up
I feel like this was just announced and it's already coming out soon. On the other hand I feel like I've been waiting all year for the new Every Time I Die album.
listened to Parting the Sea last night - such a powerful record this band has been one of the best rock bands out there for a while and I feel this record might make them reach other non-scene focused music fans!! they deserve it
yoo, the 7" got here today! i legit thought the Early Ship option meant the whole LP package would get here early, lol. guess not.
So, I feel like Touché is a lot more respected in the scene now (especially by users of this site) than they were when they dropped PTSBBAM... I'm curious, people that were skeptics / didn't like them back then, but have now started appreciating them, do you like PTSBBAM in retrospect??
They make good music. But it's partially the respect they gained being around for so long and sticking to this style of music. there were a decent number bands doing similar things. But they didn't do so hot as their releases progressed. Touche is one of the few bands stuck out from the rest. As for the PTS, I like it but it's not as good as ISB. ISB just felt way more polished. As for this album, people who have been fans for awhile will definitely enjoy it(not too much of style change, just more polishing) and people who weren't fans before will see this and probably look into more of their stuff again.
Yeah Parting is bad and cheesy like LDs first album but that's ok because both bands follow ups were miles better
I get why people would like it just like tons of people love Somewhere At The Bottom but they just aren't for me
Parting the Sea is way better than LD's Somewhere for me... That record is bad to go back to for me. Parting the Sea still has some songs I think are awesome.
Somewhere was the first album I listened to from any of the wave bands so it hold a special place in my heart.
I don't think I've ever listened to Parting The Sea in full. Not sure I care enough at this point to be honest.
never really been into these dudes tbh. back when them and LD were coming up i always preferred LD. i'm just excited to check this out to see if they changed things up a little bit like the closer.
