It feel like LD took a bigger break from making stuff/touring, than the other 2 bands. WIth Touche, they toured a lot in between the time of albums.
Pianos record is great even though I never listen to it. Defeater isn't necessarily bad, but Verse and Modern Life is War did it better. I really like the new Touché songs, they've never been a band I enjoyed. Jeremy used to post pretty frequently on AP circa 2008, which is cool. That's all I've got
theyve all done splits together right? i need to get those mp3s. if anyone wants to help out id greatly appreciate it.
Oh and I've never really enjoyed LD but I've heard their last album is a huge improvement. I swear there's a song with a similar riff to "Plea from a Cat Named Virtue" and it was tight
pianos, ld, touche, and defeater are all fucking amazing bands and we're blessed to have them all at the same time
Now that I think about, They sounds pretty similar to MLIW. MLIW really doesn't get much appreciation as them tho.
that would make sense. rewatching old interviews with Geoff during Thursdays breakup, he seems so proud of Jeremy and Touche since theyve known each other for years. Super cool that Geoff sort of passed down the torch in a way.
i always liked a few songs here and there but became really invested in them and the overarching story when they released abandoned last year
There's a lot of posts in here on these bands so I may have missed it, but what is the best Piano's album? They're really the only one I haven't listened to.
keep you, but old pride and the lack long after are great and its crucial to listen in chronological order to get a grasp on their growth
Old Pride got some really outstanding songs and so does the lack there after. Old Pride means more to me tho, 2010 was good year.
ah! both songs are some of the strongest material, but I think there are a pair of Keep You songs that trump them
Not huge on this band, but the single and the video (that was released yesterday) are both excellent. Interested if that hint of midwestern-y guitars will carry on throughout the entire album...
Keep You is the only Pianos record I like at all. Defeater is ok, I liked the last album. La Dispute to me is the only band out of this wave that's put out more than one good album. Plus, Rooms is far and away the best record by any of those bands.
ugh, hard Keep You > Rooms > Is Surived By > Parting the Sea > Vega > Wildlife > Lack Long After > the rest (including all Defeater I've heard so far)
I can't really rank them because I'm not familiar enough with it all to have a worthwhile opinion but Wildlife, Rooms and TLLA are my favourites.
interesting that you kids never mention Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair (yeah, I had to copy/paste that) what do you make of it?
