Nick’s artwork is incredible. I like the teaser visual they did of the album artwork better than the standalone image, but overall the vibe of this release is another Touche Amoré classic. Other than Converge maybe (or other Reinhardt or Brannon projects), no band has better visuals.
I'm stoked they're not doing songs that are *too* long. Also I got the black splatter. Excited for this record.
Agreed, I was honestly bummed to see it on the tracklisting. I didn't think it was that special of a song and forgot about it pretty quick. I mean, it's not bad, but it's nothing I think about. I liked Limelight and I hope the band took a lot of risks on this. I do not envy having to follow up Stage Four.
As a pretty big fan of the band, I think I've listened to it only a handful of times since it came out, one of those times today as a reminder. Just never stuck with me. Obviously other people can feel different! Edit: to be honest, I think that the mix/master on Deflector goes a long way to my not being that interested in it. Limelight sounds great though.
song is incredible. if I had any doubts they’d be able to follow up stage four with anything close to as good as it... those no longer exist. the band has never sounded better and Jeremy at this point has completely transcended the genre with his writing. he has to be in the conversation as one of the best lyricists alive right now. ordered the deluxe and a t shirt.
I like Deflector a bit more than Limelight actually. the hook is incredible. I imagine a lot of ppl are gonna be iffy on aspects of the production of this record that I will absolutely adore tho haha. I am a Ross Robinson fan. I think the performances he tends to get from his artists are second to none, though I sometimes side-eye how he comes to get them. damn y’all I think this is the record I am most stoked for the rest of the year haha I didn’t expect this at all until a few days ago.
I feel like he’s a v interesting person to listen to when it comes to him talking about his approach and philosophy to recording imo. it’s almost like a spiritual thing for him more than any kind of technical thing
What are the odds the "Taking orders never suited me" line is a reference to "The War" by Lucero? Anyone know of any link between the two? Has Touche included references like that in other songs? I don't know much of them besides Stage Four.
They must have added more of the aqua/gold/black splatter because I was just able to order one a few minutes ago.
I got that beer splatter variant from the UK store. It ended up being slightly cheaper for me than the US variants and I think it look great. Can't wait to hear the full album!
Tossed on Limelight this morning and was really happy to hear Andy come in. I had no idea he was on it so it was a great surprise.
So I got my Revolution shirt today and dear lord is this thing comfortable. It's maybe a size off being an ideal fit for me (their Larges were sold out by the time I got around to ordering it) but it's immediately one of my favourite shirts.
