friends with my local record store, they didn’t have any vinyl yet but they had some cds... I just got finished with my second listen. holy fucking shit... there are so many goosebump inducing moments on this record by the end of it I felt like I needed a sweater.
Wrote like 900 words on this thing, running tomorrow - I think it's my favourite thing they've done yet somehow, which is incredible considering how much I loved Stage Four.
Good afternoon :) My take has just gone live, enjoy! ALBUM REVIEW: Touché Amoré - Lament | XS Noize | Online Music Magazine
I literally can't wait to hear this. The chorus of Reminders sticks in my head for the past few days.
I thought the album might be too exhausting for me to listen to in its entirety but I've got different melodies from different songs careering round my head just on two listens. I'd say it doesn't let up but that's not true. They create space in such satisfying ways on here. A Broadcast is the most obvious example; beautiful song (and @Carrow, I completely agree about the restraint on it). Reminders fits really well in the context of the record in my opinion. Only song I'm not sure about yet is the closer.
oh yeah, this thing fucking rules. my third listen through and its hitting way harder. I think "Come Heroine" is my favorite
Good album. I loved Stage Four and didn't think they could come close to it. More aggressive than I thought it'd be.
