good Lord people why is this such a big deal? I apologize that instead of saying “geez this is certainly interesting that after all the hypotheses and suppositions, they have chosen a Drummer that I have never heard of” I just said the word who. Any number of you could’ve chosen to ignore it if I was too gosh darn snarky for you
So they have a hired gun as their drummer now, I guess I didn’t think of them as operating like a pop act does. I truly hope it works out for them, based on the directions of the last few singles, poppier is where they’re heading.
This far into their career it seems having an equal third partner is giving away too much control. I’m guessing that’s part of what happened with Atom. From here on out it’s gonna be the Matt and Dan and Rando show.
Seen a few of this guys clips on IG, he can really play. He seems highly respected so hopefully A3 have ended their drummer carousel
Learned about him after watching Lady Gaga's Coachella set last year, which he killed and in response to which I noticed so many musicians from the scene congratulating him for getting such a big gig. Dude is an insane drummer.
wish this was one of the first comments. Would’ve said everything I needed to know. lol. Hard pass. And strong indication of where their music is heading. Which someone earlier indicated already.
maybe you should lay off the gaga witchcraft then? Just buggin, I’m not gonna comment in this thread again. I said what I said, you’re entitled to like who you like, but so am I.
haven't seen pop hater-ism like this since 2014. feels bad, man. listen to carly rae jepsen and be free.
What if I told you most of the rest of her current live band is made up of punk rock musicians too If you seriously believe there's a correlation between the high profile and paying gigs Tosh takes as a touring drummer and the future direction of a long tenured band he just joined, then that's on you!
They are likely in the twilight of their career, certainly commercially, so it makes sense to do whatever works to keep them out on the road. Therefore, I don't think it's a situation for which they could be criticised. Several of the bigger pop punk acts do the same these days for touring and/or studio purposes. Yellowcard and New Found Glory for starters.
The last trio () of songs were great. The direction they are taking is great. Everyone else is wrong who says otherwise. We can end it all here now and move on
fair enough, but as a person who grew up on the likes of early tooth and nail punk bands, and the fact her current live members features modern punk rock artists that don’t align with my views really does nothing for me. I’m not judging you so I expect the same. It’s nice to have dialogue where people can kindly disagree. edit: I made the assumption on the direction of AT because someone stated they already went soft lol
shit, I know I said I wouldn’t go on with replies but have to add I’m just not into the demonic lol. I watch enough and have an inside to what goes on behind the scenes to simply say “no thanks, not for me” - to each their own I guess
Theres a whole generation of fans born in the Derek era that think “This Addiction” is a masterpiece and everything pre-Good Mourning is mid. As long as Matt and Dan keep writing songs that make them happy, I’m happy.
Wait, I’m a little lost here. Are you saying Lady Gaga is demonic? And second question, are you a fan of Alkaline Trio?
Well the hooks in her songs are so addicting someone could argue they're spells but other than that idk
1) without a doubt 2) yes but I’m cautious with Matt something odd about him. Like the old music not a fan of most lyrics.
Well...well yeah if you're not into the demonic, being an Alkaline Trio fan probably isn't for you. Hell Yes, as Matt says.
