New album by Toro y Moi seems to explore dystopic funk. I've been in love with the disco-drenched first single "Freelance" for over a month, thought some other folks might dig.

A bit more subdued than I had hoped from the lead single, but there's plenty to love here. "New House" is a standout.

Yeah, I have a hard time seeing any songs besides Freelance and Ordinary Pleasure being my favorites on the album, but I enjoy it all the same.

haha I actually like Fading, New House, Baby Drive It Down, Who Am I and Monte Carlo more than the singles personally

I love the whole thing tho

Those songs are more "showy", but I think it's a really enjoyable half hour and once I dig into the lyrics more it'll continue to unlock itself to me. Perfect early January release.

"Monte Carlo" is really interesting because it's basically his version of modern melodic trap, but he does it entirely in his own way and features Wet instead of a mainstream artist.

"New House" makes me think he should probably collaborate with Brockhampton.

I like Outer Peace much better than Assume Form so far. But I'll continue to listen to that too to see how it feels.

Liked this more than I was expecting too. Only thing that’s ever clicked was Anything In Return and I definitely got some similar vibes with this.

I hope everyone who is digging Outer Peace checks out the mixtape he dropped last week "Soul Trash", more of a hip-hop vibe like his last mixtape "Samantha" but Chaz himself delivers some great verses. Whole tape's only 24 minutes.
