Sure i see that point, but the pilot shortage issue is more complex than that. The military is the #1 recruitment pool where airlines get pilots, mainly because civilian pilot training is just still way too expensive and inaccessible for most average people. Military and civil aviation are highly interconnected and end up effecting eachother, and shortages in qualified airline pilots is a real issue of concern.

 

Invest in rail

 

Nationalize all flight schools so if you want to making a living being a pilot you don't have to choose between going broke getting the flight hours you need or joining the military

this didn't live up the full extent of the hypetrain (like, i've caught others saying this elicited a BP nom) but it's great for sure. been nearly eight years since whiplash, i forgot i could like miles teller in things
