Saw this in 4DX and it was so goddamn fun.

 

Finally saw this last night, and yup this is still true

 

This ruled.

 

This was pretty good. Huge improvement on the first. I thought the action was a little overhyped… until that final dog fight which was jaw dropping. Much like my regret with Dune, I wish I had caught this in IMAX. This time it’s because I waited to long.

Definitely could have done without the romance plot. Jennifer Conley did her best to act horny for Tom Cruise, but they have her the absolute worst cut and paste “rekindling an old flame” dialogue and it could not be salvaged. That sex scene seemed like an on screen admission that no one wants to see Cruise like that anymore. Though blockbusters have become so sexless now that I guess kudos for at least trying?

 

I liked this a lot, and I think it did a lot of things right - but the two things that I didn't like were I felt like they shortchanged Jennifer Connelly's character / storyline, and there is literally no way he would not have died in that initial crash where the plane disintegrated and exploded going MACH 10.5.

 

we didn’t see it happen, it could have floated down like a feather for all you know smh

 

tbf, some of the astronauts of the Challenger survived the initial disintegration of the shuttle going like 2000 mph

 

As someone who has zero interest in “military” related movies and has not actually ever sat down to watch the first Top Gun in its entirety …. this was legit outstanding.

 

This hits vod to rent august 23rd. No word on streaming yet or when you can buy it to own it

So is this four square hidden message the new trend now? I've seen this like three times in the last week.

 

Update on this. Vod to buy/ rent is august 23rd. 4k blu ray is November 1st. Still no steaming release for paramount plus yet. Might be the 23rd with vod but nothing has officially been announced
