bands are associated very strongly with me because i saw them both at pitchfork in the same year (same day maybe? don't think so though), put out records i very much loved in the same year and stayed next to each other in my aoty list that same year.

I'm the opposite of Joan I might do a top 100 because there's a lot of albums I don't want to cut. I'm also eschewing limiting it to one artist one album I'm just going with my raw visceral gut reaction

 

If I was being super honest, my top 4 would have been the first 4 Bjork albums, but that would have been really boring, even for me. I also don't place any distinction between the second and third tier. Lists are kind of inherently silly anyway. Fun though.

i probably see this going around yearly but this year is the most i've seen people doing it

 

everything outside of top 4 is the same tier to me pretty much. probably forgetting a ton of shit that belongs on here but whatever. theres some recency bias also
