Dananananaykroyd were a super fun band.

 

idk bottom part gets kinda sketchy and any number of things could get swapped out on a whim w/ no issue but i think this is mostly right

 

I only learnt to play guitar so I could jam out to that Dananananaykroyd on a daily basis, for that reason alone it goes into my top 4. The guitar playing on that album is just everything I want in music.

 

how did I forget The Monitor on my list... I feel ashamed right now.

 

Mariah and Janet were hard to leave off but I couldn't decide which albums between the two

 

its kinda wild to think how much mine has changed in the last five years, woulda been like no records pre-2005 on there and prob like 0 ambient or r&b lol

 

If I'd have made my list 5 years ago, the albums that definitely wouldn't have been there (aside from the stuff released in the last 5 years, obvs);

Luther Vandross
Burial
Pogues (maybe?)
Paul Simon (maybe?)
Saul Williams (maybe?)

Other than that I don't think there'd be a huge change.

 

spirit of eden is so good, i haven't listened to that one in a while

 

honestly it might be easier to list albums that would have been on mine 5 years ago that are still there

nope i love it, i think the only criticism i have for it is that the for the love of ivy cover is at best poorly placed sequence wise and at worst unnecessary

 

I'd agree. Never cared for that cover

 

it's fine but i could live without it. definitely doesn't affect my enjoyment of the album.

 

I almost always skip that track.

 

I love(d) that album but havent listened in a year or so. Good stuff, idk if it made as big of an impact on me as i thought it did when it dropped

 

It's a real good rock n roll album but it doesn't transcend past that like it has for so many others. I wish it impacted me the way I want it to.

 

it's no cloud nothings

 

not that they really operate in the same space, but cloud nothings has never written anything near as good as "the house that heaven built"
