I had this problem with Tegan and Sara's The Con and Sainthood when I was doing my own list and ended up having my partner do a quick photoshop of the two together lol. That's, like, the only reason I still might do one of these, because I feel bad I made them go through the effort just to not use that image.
most influential hip hop album to my lifetime, really the first one I gave a real serious listen to that blew me away. still think it's a sprawling, maximalist, gorgeous masterpiece of a record that showcases the transformation of Kanye and his ego into what he has been this decade
I think it's the perfect distillation of Kanye, having Fergie Rihanna Cudi and Elton on the same song is the most Kanye thing ever
i would say for me that's definitely a big part of it. every time i do go back to it it's magical to listen to as well, for the reasons i listed above. don't want to get into kanye rankings lol but yeezus is very close for that too, for a lot of very different reasons.
do other people like echoes of silence more than the weeknd's other albums? it's probably my least favorite.
I think you're probably on your own with that, I don't know anyone who would put Kiss Land or Beauty Behind the Madness above Echoes of Silence.
True, but he said EoS was his least favourite of the Weeknd's albums which is a weird opinion. Kiss Land is typically considered the worst
yeah, i know people don't like kiss land as much (which i still don't get), but i don't think i'd ever seen echoes of silence put ahead of house of balloons or thursday. the only thing i really go back to on it is "d.d.", but maybe i'll give it another listen later. i was just surprised to see that be the favorite.
well it's equally as strange to me that someone would think Kiss Land is better than EoS lol. Although I do enjoy KL very much
This was tough. Had to cut a lot out and the 3rd section is not in order at all (the second one barely is. it's a rough life. i cant make up my mind to save my life) EDIT: I forgot All Time Low's Don't Panic ;-; it would be in Other Favorites. It's the only ATL record I revisit anymore and I really love the sequencing of that record. It had a huge part of my music development too
