I had to create a profile, enter a row of albums, SAVE it, re-load, enter the next row, save again, repeat, until the end
The interest in artists of color/women artists/lgbtq artist conversation is a very important one. I used to make a lot of dumbass incendiary statements on the topic (sorry phaynes), but it should be something to discuss with tact. I'll post legitimate thoughts later, just acknowledging the good posts so far until I get home
You definitely win for most diverse by year. I've been making an effort to dig deeper back in time, so hopefully over time my list would be just as diverse!
it's okay, i used to have a pretty backwards view on the topics, i'd like to think a lot of those discussions helped me change and grow
just tried to make this three times and it didn't work at all. pretty frustrating. edit: oh well, some really cool lists and even better conversations in here.
thanks, though i think it might go to spo. idk i barely listen to a lot of those anymore, mainly bc the release date, but whenever i throw them on i realize they're pretty much perfect records also forgot marquee moon
i just listened to big star for the first time the other day good record, very cool of topher grace to let them cover the 70s show theme
i swear i cant get anything to load on this fucking site Topsters is apparently owned or run by last.fm which makes sense
yeah it keeps freezing on me, I'll try again tomorrow maybe as per diversity in music at some point a few years ago I realized that like 95% of the shows I'd been to had been white dudes and it felt bad
check out chris bell (other singer outside of alex chilton on the first record) too. he has one album called i am the cosmos and it's incredible. i'm ignoring the second sentence.
Late to the discussion but when I was in high school I definitely used to say that I don't really care for female vocalist. I'll admit it and I was soooo wrong to think and act on that. I'm by no means perfect these days but I definitely make it a point to seek out female vocalists and I can't believe how much I used to miss out on.
