I have garbage music taste tbh and they always change but that has more to do with the fact that I became more obsessed with music that wasn't on the radio or musical soundtracks in 2014
I'm currently listening to the new Lydia Loveless record on NPR, but might switch over to The Blood Brothers after this.
Following up on this, when did you all start really getting obsessed with music? And, how long have your favorite all time lists been cemented for?
2004 was my big music obsession year. My top five has been pretty much set since senior year of high school, so 2009. Beyond top five, though, it's probably changed a bunch, even in just the last two or three years.
I've only been serious about seeking out new music since the end of 2012, only really tried expanding my horizons in probably 2014. I'm behind on a lot. My favorite all time list has never been cemented lol. I don't even think I could come up with one, it's not something I really think about for some reason.
Yeah as many of you know mines never cemented. I mean, the same general ones are always mentioned for me but the order changes a lot and new ones get added and dropped. Seems like every week I have a new favorite album lol. I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that the middle of 2014 was when I really started to explore and get into albums that had been out for years. Just something I was curious about
They just made a new website recently and they're playing some shows soon. They've said new music is being made, ha. I'm hoping it won't be too much longer.
I started getting really into music as in listening to a lot in like 2010 but I've cared about music a lot since 2003 or so. My top 10 has been the same since 2010, ha. There's only been 1 new in my top 20 this decade.
I found my brothers copy of The Artist in the Ambulance and that totally changed my opinions on music. Then my brother made me an AP account to help me find music to sate my Thrice fueled music obsession. That was game over
Started to do this. Quickly realized every single selection was a mid-late career release from an artist well established before 2010, so I'm bummed out. Not sure if I'm too stuck in my ways or if good rock is just dying. Just gonna share some of my lesser known highlights. Tides of Man - Dreamhouse (2010) Fair to Midland - Arrows & Anchors (2011) The Life and Times - No One Loves You Like I Do (2012) Mew - +/- (2015) Kaddisfly - Horses Galloping on Sailboats (2015) Failure - The Heart Is a Monster (2015) The Dear Hunter - Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise (2015) British Theatre - Mastery (2016)
really started branching out 2003/2004 early in high school when all the quintessential scene bands like brand new, bright eyes, tbs et. all started to really get big. been going strong ever since. tried to run a few music blogs over the years that never really panned out. damn i feel old. its been really fun though
glad to see TFIC getting praise here, always thought it was underrated. hoping for an announcement from the band on new stuff soon
