Band is amazing. 10k days is probably my favorite which is a wildly unpopular opinion. But whateva "vicarious" "wings pt 2" "rosetta stoned" "right in two" all bang

Yesssss. We had this discussion I think a page or two back, but I have a special attachment to the album. It was actually my first Tool album.

Push It is their prime achievement tho

yeah 10k days is a great record. probably third for me in their discog tho. such a varied career with no real lows, incredible stuff

Yeah 10k days is 3rd for me too, my order would be Lateralus=Anema>10kDays>Undertow>Opiate. I do love undertow and Opiate a lot but I feel they're starting to feel a little bit dated now.

    Ænema is probably my favorite

Ænema is the only one I have heard so far. Bought off Ebay. Will eventually get to the other ones. But it's the streaming on youtube thing that hasen't made me rush to do it.

Need to revisit their discography. A Perfect Circle has some jams too, but weren't as consistent for me.

I love Mer de Noms, but I haven't really give Thirteenth Step enough listens. I like The Outsider a lot though.

Thirteenth Step is honestly the last thing MJK put out that completely lived up to its impossible expectations for me. "The Noose," "Blue," "A Stranger," "Pet" -- really phenomenal material. Billy Howerdel is a genius.

Both the APC records come really close to matching the top Tool records in my book. I'd say MDN is more consistent, with virtually every song being 9/10 or better, whereas TTS is a hair uneven but makes up for it with its diversity and probably their best song (Pet).

Thirteenth Step is easily my favorite APC release, album is fucking crazy. The Package might as well be a Tool track

  18. Mer De Noms was/is my favorite. I never really got into anything APC released after that.

I also have to thank TTS for introducing me to Failure via the "Nurse Who Loved Me" cover back in the day. I might listen to them as much or more than Tool nowadays, if only because their stuff is a little more accessible and less taxing. Amazing band that every Toolhead should check out.

I go back and forth between Mer De Noms and Thirteenth Step as my favorite APC record all the time.

Yeah I'm listening to Thirteenth Step right now and it's so good. I don't know why I don't listen to it more. I wonder what we'll get first: new APC or Tool?

APC is great. Some of the guitar solos on the first album are really cool.
