I feel like the hype here is going to be really hard to live up to, but I’m super excited at the prospect. If anyone can do it, these guys can

 

Yeah, I'm almost as scared to see this become a reality as I am excited. Good thing is after 12 years and knowing these guys are like 55, I think my expectations are reasonable and have a decent chance of being topped.

Also wish it weren't Barresi producing, but I'm sure location weighed heavily in that decision.

 

We wont get a Tool album in 2018. If they are just starting to record it now, early 2019.

People controlled by a major label still risk being caught up in struggles like that but Tool is very much in charge of their own releases

I wonder if this band will finally give in to the streaming giant with this album. It would also help build hype for this one if they finally put their back catalog on streaming services. I know this band operates very far outside the norm though, I'm just wishful thinking.

There was talk a few months back that they’d been in talks with streaming services. Whether anything comes from that is another matter.

Edit: Damn it was longer than I thought since those news articles. It was this time last year.
