What is the point of view that you hold? That Desolate Earth holds? I don't agree with where @christsizedshoes landed on the matter, but I appreciate them at least attempting to engage.

You are both more mad about someone criticizing the band than you are about the fact that MJK may have raped multiple fans. That's problematic. That's not a "point of view"

 

Yes, go back in the Tool thread where I brought it up multiple times and everyone ignored me. The conversation was absolutely continuing

Of course it should be talked about in the new album thread. This is where most eyes on this site will be when it comes to people who either A) listen to Tool, or B) want to keep the allegations from being swept under the rug. I don't understand why you have such a problem with us bringing our attention to them.

 

I dont have an issue with it being brought up. You all are saying that I dont want it discussed or that I am saying it's not important and that's simply not true. I never once said one is more important than the other. In fact I word for word said discussing this is important. What got me upset was the spamming and general anger at people not responding with anything other than total agreement. That's just not how the world works. I draw the line in a different spot than you guys do. 1 questionable accusation (and it has been stated that its questionable by several people now) and vague remarks does not make me want to cancel a band. You are all free to have a difference in opinion

likening your behavior to the same behavior exhibited by the alt right does not mean anyone called you alt-right. i know its an easy shortcut to just act like you were called alt right than to actually address the criticism of your stance but you're gonna have to try harder

People have been discussing the legitimacy of this accusation all day. It is questionable.

Since this is a repeat conversation with the same people, we know you aren't informing anything or anyone new. Its not arguable that you posted you didnt like people talking in here on another thread and you came to put a stop to it and then acted offended no one is listening to you. You're just some guy online with too much free time. That's it, call you whatever you want though. Since I'm not intrested in rehashing the MJK thing again months later, I'm fine with just calling out how sad it is that some people want to prove a point so bad to a few internet strangers because you dislike them talking about it.

not like the accounts of him and the "consensual" sex he had with of age (allegedly) groupies fare much better than the rape allegations. you can support whatever band you want but i dont see how i could ever gladly support someone like MJK and what he stands for re: his pro military and pro police force stances, and the obvious power imbalance between him and the women he picked up on tour, given his status as front man of tool and the fact that even if the women were of age it seems he was still much older than most of them. pretty "yikes," is one way to put it.

 

My friend, I don't know what to tell you if you don't think people's words online matter. They do. Discrediting the work that people (far, far better than I am) have done on this site for years because they're "online" is some pretty ignorant shit. If I get a single person who was supporting an abusive artist to have a second thought, to stop supporting that artist, to spark a conversation with their friends who might not know, then I don't really give a fuck what an ignorant asshole like you thinks.
