Last night was pretty incredible. They played 2 songs as full band arrangements (that they said just came together during soundcheck) first, then Felix played solo. After the full band section, Felix had the whole crowd sit on the floor for therest of the show, which was a cool vibe. The songs sounded great, even without the energy Felix's drumming brings to the live show. They played Parking Lots after someone shouted it from the crowd and Felix said he hadn't played it on guitar in years, so that was pretty awesome. Tsunami is still one of the best songs to see live. Both openers are great too. I think the tour is almost over but if anyone has a chance to go to the other dates, I recommend it. Felt like a very special show.
Hello. Reminder that this is a perfect record. I hope Felix is working on new stuff and we don’t have to wait 4 years between albums again.
Very weird that you bumped this when you did. Literally just got done listening to "Going By" on a rec I got from r/indieheads Really love it
The first time I had ever heard them was at a Told Slant/Eskimaux/Girl Pool show and it absolutely blew my mind. Getting to experience Told Slant for the first time in a live setting was so special
Wild line up. I was listening to Still Water a bit in like 2014 but kind of forgot about them. Then they opened for The Hotelier and broke my brain. Probably in the top 5 live sets I've ever seen.
That's sick. Definitely check the first record too. Going By is waaaaayy better but there's some gems on the other one. Also, if you want other recs from the scene/label/other projects Felix plays with, hit me up.
i saw a felix solo set with the one and only anna mcclellan, that was very good is this a competition?
really hoping the wait between albums isn't so steep this time told slant is my favorite of all the bands in that group :(
I can't see the tweet this is responding to, but I'm like 90% sure this is in reference to the next Told Slant record!
