Forcefield is great. I don't know what's wrong with you guys. It's their last album that is just a mess.

 

This song off their demos album is better than all of their TPC album.

 

I still think forcefield was pretty subpar, but next to what came after, it seems pretty good. I absolutely loved that first single from forcefield though

 

Forcefield was definitely more straightforward in a lot of ways, especially lyrically, but it made it more relatable to me. It's always a toss up between that and Champ for my favorite album.

Listening in honor and this album still absolutely rules. Just hit after hit after hit.

 

Agreed. Wish they kept doing stuff like this instead of their last album.

Out of curiosity, why would someone get a test pressing?

 

For a lot of people it’s about how rare they are and normally fetch a fairly high price. Some think they sound better since they are the first run of discs pressed and supposedly layer presses in the batch don’t sound as good. I only have one because it was sent to me when I ordered the standard retail version of JEW - Damage. But that’s the only pressing of damage I have so I can’t attest to sound control.

 

Honestly one of the few albums from a decade ago when I first started collecting that I never parted ways with. Non stop bangers.

 

I literally bought a copy of every variant because I love this band with a passion.

agreed. Loved everything TPC put out up until the latest release.

 

I mean, I know Dave has his solo stuff and there's their side project that sounds similar to the latest TPC release and that worries me the next album will continue this direction.

 

i've heard dave's solo stuff, but what's the side project?

 

I’m curious also. I do enjoy Monks’ solo stuff quite a bit.

Received the test pressing of the 10 year anniversary pressing of Champ today. Love the alternate artwork. Will still probably continue to spin my red copy though.

 

Just now getting around to noticing and listening to the digital version of the 10 year anniversary edition of Champ and can’t help but wish the vinyl version was made a double LP that included that entire second disc of b-sides, remixes, and demos. First time hearing a lot of those demos and they are great.
