Tokyo Police Club – “New Blues”

Bless this band

 

Meh. It was fine, but if the whole album sounds like this I'll be sorely disappointed. I think it'll be really hard for them to top Forcefield.

 

I keep expecting this band to break up and I’m always stoked when they come out with something new.

 

Yeah, 'meh' sums this up pretty well. Hopefully this is a one off track.

I enjoyed Forcefield, but for me it was a step down from Champ. Hopefully this is a step back up.

 

I saw them live at the end of last year and they played a different new song (I'll try to find the set list) and it was also pretty meh. It just didn't have their typical energy or quirkiness. This song is the same. It just felt a little lazy.

It's also really hard for me to choose between Champ and Forcefield because they're both so good for completely different reasons.

 

Ahh that sucks to hear.

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed both, but find myself returning to Champ more.

I also really enjoy the two albums before Champ too, especially Elephant Shell.
