my parents recently went to Florida for a week and a half on vacation, and were maskless the whole time because they're that typical age group, and then came home and immediately helped throw a birthday party for my uncle and of course every single family member and friend was crammed together in a small bar, maskless. and when i said, "is that such a good idea? at the very least shouldn't you NOT attend until after you get your test results back?" to which they both scoffed. a few days ago they got their results back and my mom texts me, "my test was negative, as i fully expected". 140K+ dead but you still gotta be a smug asshole about it? a small part of me wishes she had tested positive and at least had some symptoms. not terrible ones, but just something. but nope, doing all that and not getting it makes it even more likely they don't believe it's "real" which is beyond frustrating. sorry to hijack the thread.
Yeah I’ve made to feel like I’m being the crazy one multiple times for not wanting to see friends/family, and that really sucks. I always wind up saying something like “if everyone in the country was treating this how I was, we’d be on the other side of it already. I’m just doing my part” and it suuuucks that a statement I shouldn’t have to defend rings in my ears like such pretentious martyr bullshit, but at this point idk what else to say.
My juul charger keeps sticking to shit (for those of you smart enough to not vape, it's magnetic) and I swear I spend an hour every week looking for it god I need to quit
i know this all too well. although, i really like that the juul device is magnetic, i stick it to everything. i'm pretty sure one of my devices is defected because i just had an entire 4 pack leak. when the juulpods i can't easily get anymore leak
it's definitely a love/hate relationship. sometimes I enjoy it, but with something like say pollen, I really really hate it
I love a sneeze when I get them out but unfortunately I instinctively hold them in and sometimes that kinda hurts. It’s a bad habit I’ve been trying to break for years lol
This is very specific, but nobodies who vaguely look like celebrities and play it up a ton and start to style and dress themselves the same way and then pretend to act all cute and coy when people think they look like that celeb and acting like it's such a burden. You did this! I wish this was even a specific subtweet but I feel like I see this strangely often online lol
When people who are selling things ask the buyer to make an offer first. That is not how selling things works!
If we’re talking buyer complaints then I could go on forever lol. My favorite is when they ask how big the item is even though the measurements are in the description, but you send them anyway and then they ghost
or when you send a watcher a very reasonable offer and they don't accept, opting to pay full-price down the line. some of that can be attributed to said person not having the money and waiting until they do but I gotta think at least sometimes the person is just a dumbass
I'm sure there was a reality TV show on MTV like 20 years ago about people like this who wanted to look less like celebrities and were given surgery to ease the "burden". There was this guy who thought he looked too much like David Schwimmer so got some stuff done to his face but it somehow left him looking even MORE like David Schwimmer and he was really mad about it and then the episode just ended without a resolution. It was so funny (yet really cruel I guess) but I can't find any evidence that the show existed so it might just have been some tumblr fan fic I made up.
idk about that, but there definitely was a show on MTV close to 20 years ago that was the exact opposite concept, haha I Want a Famous Face - Wikipedia
Haha yeah I remember that one. Maybe it was a special episode of that show where they were doing the opposite? I vividly remember this guy!
Lol yeah I saw this woman on tiktok who resembles Taylor swift and the whole video was about how she looks like her and now can't dress cute outside cause people think she's her and I'm like sis... Maybe don't copy her style and exact haircut and people won't think ur her as much lmao. Or that Ariana grande lookalike who like went to Disneyland and pretended to be her or something but then tried to act cute like she has nooooo idea why anyone would think she was Ariana. Like just admit ur taking advantage of the resemblance and move on!
