Yeah this is how it works at my job too. I’ve intentionally been building it up the past year since I have to do a lot of traveling in a few months
My work just updated policy so you can only carry over 10 days to the next year and people are panicking lol there are some people who had months of FTO piled up. ... I use my time for mental health breaks so I only carried 1 day over this year haha. People blow my minds for sitting on their earned time off.
Companies have done a lot to instill a sense of shame in taking things that are legally yours think, like it’s a detriment to your colleagues or something
Yeah, true. I just don't really give a flying fuck about that, my colleagues can wait for me to get back to them when I'm back online or text me if it's a true emergency haha I do try to time things around very important meetings where I know my input could change the course of how we make a major decision, but that's really it.
It goes both way with sick days. If you're coughing and sneezing or are even slightly possibly contagious you should definitely stay home but I'd also prefer to struggle through a day at the office and save the day off for when I can actually enjoy myself. But I also work at a desk at least 20 feet from anyone else and don't really have to interact with anyone all day.
I'm never coming in to "save" my coworkers or the company. It's not like I sit on the board or something. They will all drop you in a split second. Zero loyalty.
Woke up early this morning to a missed call from my sister, who I rarely talk to and certainly haven’t talked to on the phone in like…well, possibly ever? Thought something was very wrong. Turned out her and her kids just wanted to know why I don’t ever go to Wahlburgers because they learned I live near a few. The fuck, man.
Chipped my top front tooth so I'm going into the dentist extra early tomorrow. Boo. Never chipped a tooth before
Very happy the dentist was able to repair my chipped tooth with no problems. Can't even tell that there's composite there, he matched the color perfectly. HOWEVER, my professionally made night guard no longer fits properly. Ugh. I only got it made a few months ago and got insurance to cover it.. it would have been $500 out of pocket. My insurance only covers new night guards once every 5 years.
Getting delivery from Walmart and every time you open their tracker, you have to watch the little car on the map very slowly drive from Walmart to where the driver is currently located *every* time. And when I say slowly, I mean staring at it moving for like 30 seconds until you can finally figure out where the driver actually is lol
I think I’ve officially become incapable of sleeping in. My body now wakes up early in the morning around the time I’d usually wake up to get ready for work. No alarm set either. Ugh
New England weather. Last night I went to sleep sweating my ass off with all the windows open. By morning, it was 40 degrees out. I'm still chilly.
Opening your bank app and looking at transactions made recently and realizing you’ve apparently been paying $14.99 a month for Amazon Prime but you don’t have Amazon Prime. Ughhh.
These videos where the presenter is explaining a subject but also doing some unrelated task on the side. These were kind of fun at first but now they are everywhere and I hate them. I don’t need to see you building legos or cooking while explaining some political or scientific concept. It’s actually just distracting and takes away from the learning aspect which I came to the video for!
That does not include the videos of that band that does emo/hardcore/metal covers while cooking. That is art.
...huh. Wtf I came home from lunch and they roped off my stairs for carpet installation on my floor. Not the elevator, so I took that up, and they roped off my apartment door and the unit next to mine, but nobody else. The worker was like "hey man you have to be very careful, you should have read the sign" but I didn't see any sign and I think that's BS that you can try and lock someone in or out of their home with zero prior written notice lmao? I went in anyways, but what if I needed to leave again?
Like, I understand why that could be necessary, but c'mon you gotta give multiple days notice if it's non emergency work
When I mention that I haven’t eaten much and someone replies “whose fault is that?”. I know it’s my fault and I’m not complaining, I’m just saying I’m hungry!
Whenever I log into the T-Mobile app it prompts me to either set up face ID or “Ask me later”. I will never want to turn on face ID! Leave me alone!
My work computer has been doing this every day for the past month. A password is just fine, no way I’m doing facial/fingerprint ID. There’s no option to opt out either so I just have to keep hitting snooze.
