I have worked in a call center or call center like environment my entire adult life. Basically all I have ever known. It's super annoying, but I don't think I would be able function anywhere else at this point.
Currently have all my windows open at the end of November because tonight it dared to be 50 degrees outside so my third story apartment is 75 degrees with the heat off. Living on the top floor of a big building definitely has its pros and cons haha
LMAO that reminds me of his girl I had a college class with. She said she was very pro kids rights and I was like cool so like labor laws and stuff? No. She thought it was offensive to say "I'm just kidding" because it has the word kid in it and denotes that it's not serious aka we don't take kids seriously. Just stuff like that. And it wasn't satirical at all. But that's so funny to just make that assumption about Hanson without them even articulating that concern for themselves and still being a band
In a TV show or movie when there is a storyline where a kid is going off to college and finds out their parents can't pay for their college and they're all upset and say they can't go now. Lol whose parents pay for their college? I don't know anyone whose parent paid for college. Shut up and take out loans like the rest of us peasants. Edit: for the record being upset at the terrible and expensive college tuition is valid! It's highway robbery. But it just comes across as an out of touch storyline to me when tons and tons of kids don't have their parents paying for college
That Levi's commercial was kind of a "meme" when it came out in the 90s. I remember everyone making a big deal out of how random it was.
I agree that the entitlement is annoying, but many people I went to high school with had college paid for by their parents, at least the first year. One of my closest friends had all four years paid for by them. I can’t think about it for too long because the very clear leg up in life he has had from not having to work through college or worry about debt afterward makes me want to punch him sometimes
Three minutes is too high a length limit for YouTube shorts. Now it’s just a full length YouTube video with a nightmare aspect ratio
I have a friend who's 700K house was paid for by his trust fund, and after purchasing, he talked about how he's so glad he got into the neighborhood for under 1M while stressing that he could have went that high if needed. He also likes to bring up that there are other houses available on his street if anyone of us are wanting to be neighbors, all of which are 800-1.2M. He's a really nice dude but the naiveté around his trust and how that separates him from everyday folk is a lot sometimes.
The random cliche swag shit that my job hands out every year always contains the giant ass company logo on it. Idk if they do it for cost savings or some unwritten (or written) rule for tax purposes or whatever but I wish it didn’t have the logo in it so I could keep it if I found it useful and not constantly be reminded of work. Pens, coffee mugs, backpacks, multipurpose tool, etc. every time we get a “gift” from work, there’s the obnoxious fucking logo taking up 75% of the space on said object.
Two days ago I ordered lunch from a place and the pickup time was 12:20. I got there a little early thinking, whatever it’s just a sandwich, it’ll probably be ready or close to. But they were like weirdly irritated that I was there and made me wait until 12:20 on the dot. Okay whatever fine But then today I placed a breakfast order from a different place, pickup time 9:35 (25 minutes). I figured I’d get there a little early at 9:30, but got the text in just 8 minutes that it was ready. I hadn’t even stepped out the door yet and now my food is just sitting there under a food truck heat lamp in 41° weather and I won’t be there for 10+ minutes. If you knew it wasn’t busy, why wouldn’t you wait a little longer to prepare the food? I understand that online ordering from restaurants is never going to be perfect, but it’d be cool if there were more advanced systems in place for places to estimate this stuff. Feels like there should be by now? Isn’t this what AI should be used for?
Something similar happened to me a few weeks ago. I ordered Sweetgreen and scheduled my pickup time to be 11:45 and suddenly it was ready at like 11:20. It was a salad so I wasn’t necessarily concerned about it going cold or anything, but I did find it kind of annoying. Especially since they just leave it on a shelf unattended. Anyone could’ve grabbed that salad before I arrived at my scheduled time of 11:45…
I picked up a Jersey Mike's order the other day and when I was looking through the shelf to find my order, I noticed another order that said "advance order - ready at 12:30pm" It was only like 11:40am at the time. Dude's food was just gonna be sitting for an hour.
Amazon signed me up for their britbox without my consent. The only way for me to cancel it was select no auto renew. I found out when I was checking my emails. The time stamp was in the wee hours of the morning while I was asleep so it’s not like I accidentally clicked on something.
Well at least now that it's December, the cold will freeze the rotting smell lol EDIT Oh, wait, it's an apartment? So it's indoors?
have you seen them in the last few weeks? that could be a very bad sign. hopefully they are just a lazy fuck and that's really it but ya never know
yeah I see him every day dude is lazy as hell, constantly puts his trash bags right outside his door too
