Maybe if you didn't price gouge people wouldn't steal

Has anyone seen the Target commercials where they try to make the checkout cameras cute and it's randomly set to Michelle Branch

 

And employees don't def get paid enough to actually confront someone stealing even if they do see them

 

That was my big thing when working retail. Why should I care? Certainly not enough to ruin myself and another individual's day on behalf of the Dollar General corporation lol

 

from what I've heard DG is especially worse than most other retail

I remember a cashier getting fired when I worked at lowe's because they chased someone who ran out with a cart full of tools

DG is the worst and it's all the execs fault. John Oliver did a segment on them last year that was very enlightening for me. I really feel for the employees and for those living in an area where it's the only place to shop.

 

Yeah, I know it's like this everywhere but shit really rolls downhill there. My manager had completely unrealistic expectations but I also knew the expectations being put on her were unrealistic

I will always remember a time at the dollar store where a man ran out with two baskets full of items and the cashier just shook his head and said "having to steal from the dollar store. How sad" and kept going about his day

My dad always worked at Safeway/vons my entire life almost and always chased the shoplifters and got into it with them. Idk why. He never got in trouble for it either as far as I know. It could've so easily and quickly gone wrong

 

Every retail and food service job I worked for always emphasized “don’t be the hero” and not stop anyone that was stealing or robbing from us. I imagine this is the case for similar stores

 

That should be the case for most stores, but you'd be surprised lol

 

Most don’t want you to chase people for legal reasons.

 

I can’t even imagine chasing someone for a company of all things

 

I’d do it to get my steps in for the day

 

When I worked at the movie theater I regularly saw people take candy off the rack and walk away but I never said anything because why would I care lol

 

I had a real tough guy as an assistant manager at the super market I worked at who tackled a man in the parking lot for stealing a pack of Skittles.

Trying to put together furniture. My brain does not comprehend the pictures and I always have stuff flipped and need to take things apart but I have no one to help me so I gotta just wing it and hope it doesn’t fall apart lol like I’m stuck on a step bc I can’t figure out if I need to flip this board or not ughhh I had it secured, unscrewed it and then said no it was right, resecured it and now I’m like wait does it need flipped????

 

I sure hope so. I think he was sent home for the day after that one lol

 

i tweaked my neck brushing my teeth this morning. throw my simple weak atrophied body into a volcano

 

just brush the opposite way next time

I don’t know why, but I can’t mentally handle media relating to my job when I’m not working. I have no interest in watching Abbot Elementary and definitely not teaching Facebook and Instagram shorts that are always on my feed. I just need the “me time” away from work and don’t want to think about it. Maybe it’s like how people that work in restaurants say The Bear stresses them out.

 

Same I can only watch Abbott cause I don't teach anymore so it's funny cause it's not my life lol. I can't watch anything related to my job. I don't even like when I come across a tiktok related to my job. Instant adverse reaction.

 

When did a Starbucks ice coffee only become more than $5 for a venti. I remember when it was under $3

 

My wife and I went to Coffee Bean the other day and both got our own drinks and it came out to like, $12. It’s insane how expensive coffee is getting these days.

…but this is not stopping me from getting it because I love coffee lmao
