That my alcohol tolerance sucks now. I hadn't drank in over 6 months, but randomly decided to have two IPA tallboys on Monday night, it is Wednesday afternoon and I am still feeling the body fatigue and mental fog from it Granted they were 9% double IPAs that I drank back to back.
I feel your pain. I love a hefty craft beer but only drink 2-3 in a sitting usually, maybe 2 or 3 times per month at most so non-existent tolerance. Anything 8-12% catches up to me QUICK these days. Switching over to drinking lighter abv stuff has been a nice change for me.
Guess this is more than an small annoyance but got to the office today like any other day. Our regional manage is here which is a normal thing 2 or 3 times a month, but 2 hrs into my workday I find out that my manager was let go and now I feel like Im left in limbo to fend for myself for the foreseeable future. Also sucks that he was a pretty cool dude I didnt mind spending 40hrs a week working with. Im at a decent size civil design firm but work out of a remote office with far less resources than the rest of the company and it sucks. I cant acquire projects in my current position since im not a project manager. Feeling frustrated, stressed, and worried for my own future to say the least.
My work doesn’t give a shit about finding me help when we’re short staffed, but oh it matters so much for someone else to have help. Fuck me right.
There’s this VERY weird guy at work that I truly cannot stand. I don’t make eye contact with him and I hit record on my phone whenever I have to help him so I can prove to people in my life just how bizarre he is and to prove to myself that he actually exists. My stomach pretty much drops whenever I see him walking toward me. Anyway, every other morning he comes to me to say his computer won’t turn on. It’s always because he somehow pulls the power cord out of the PC with his feet (sidenote: he is often barefoot at his desk) but is too dumb to stop doing it. He even said just now, “I wonder what causes that.” Not only is it annoying, him constantly coming to my open office and knocking on the doorframe even if I’ve already acknowledged his presence, but the floor surrounding his desk is a literal pool of used staples for some fucking reason and when I leaned down to reach his computer just a few minutes ago a staple went right under my fingernail and now I am in pain and bleeding to death (typing this with my pinky). Goodbye and goodnight.
Not kink shaming but that fucker enjoys smushing his bare feet into a pile of staples. Only thing that makes sense about that weird scenario.
The other “tiny thing” that annoys me about that situation is that he’s one of two office weirdos. The other is a woman. They’re both on the same end of the weirdo continuum but she is farrrrr less excruciating and an easier person to sympathize with, like, it’s just an objective fact. However, because all the women in the office are misogynists, they all refer to him, who is much worse for MANY reasons, as “harmless” but constantly talk about how “entitled” she is even though for the most part the things she does is, for example, stuff like giving out ziplock bags with exactly two small mint leaves because “we have so much in our apartment” or asking to go home early because the office smells weird. Speaking of internalized misogyny, the other day one of the supervisors here was talking about the Karen Read trial and she kept saying, “I know men talk like that but he’s a professional!” referring to text messages the detective in the case apparently sent. She said this a couple of times, “I know this is how men talk, but…” to the point where I searched the internet to see what the texts in question said and fucking YIKES at thinking - and being okay with it! - that “men talk like that.” Sorry, very ranty this morning! Haha.
When people come over and make comments about what needs fixed at my house. Unless you plan on paying for these repairs, keep your mouth shut!!
My mom does this. Sends me inspiration pics for my balcony with hundreds of dollars worth of plants and stuff and offers to help me but not monetarily. I think she just projects because her house is mostly her husband's style and she wants a place to decorate how she wants. So I try to remember that when she's telling me what I should do but grrrrrr
Also I feel like most of the time new slang or whatever is pretty easy to understand using context clues. Sometimes its off the wall but I find usually it's clear what is meant. So I get slightly annoyed when older gens act like they have no idea what the youths are saying and say they have to look everything up and there has to be all these think pieces and articles about it.
I definitely officially lost touch with new slang when I started hearing "rizz" lol that was the first time I had to look something up.
I was really looking forward to having drinks and watching a specific shitty horror movie tonight and I can't find my DVD player remote :/ there should be a play button on the damn player!
I went to target to be in my happy place and they were like sold out of everything and had self checkout closed
Honestly I don't wanna hear any grocery stores whining about people stealing in self checkout. What about ur wage theft because if I'm being my own cashier and bagger but I'm not getting paid and my groceries aren't getting cheaper?? I don't steal in self checkout but like let us have something good for the introverts who just wanna be in and out in this capitalistic sink hole of a life
I know it’s kind of a first-world problem but I’m really annoyed at how anal Target is being with self-checkouts. Every Target I live by always has half of them closed whenever I go. I went to a Target near my office after work a couple weeks back and the moment I went to go check out, the self-checkouts closed. I am angered
My local target has renovated multiple times. They put in a self checkout, took them away for a while, and then recently renovated again and put them back. But now they're closed again. Idk how much is stolen but is it really more economical to keep renovating?? I would rage quit if they closed them just as I was checking out Once at Safeway I scanned a cheap balloon thing like 4 times and it kept not working and I thought that it finally did and bagged it. Almost immediately a worker came over to tell me it didn't scan and I hadn't paid for it. So there does seem to be some way to monitor it effectively? Maybe if stores would staff more than a skeleton crew they could actually do that!
