podcasts from the ringer have started playing an allstate insurance ad and the woman doing the ad is so god damn nasally when she speaks
I recently cut my hair and there really is a fine line between cute long bob cut and feeling like Lord Farquuad
We have to go back 3 days a week starting in a few weeks. 99% of the meetings I’m in are with people in other states or countries. I have one half hour meeting with one person who will actually be onsite. Oh boy. And the requirement for us is that you need to come in 3 days a week if you live within an hour of the office, so when I buy a house next summer, it’s gonna be at least 61 minutes away from the office because fuck you. Some folks have kids and live 45 minutes away and also deal with everyone on Teams and out of state. Instead of being able to work 8-4:30 from home, they now can only work 9-3 those days to be able to drop off and pick up kids from school. Company wants to waste money and reduce how much time people will work? Ok, don’t fucking complain when production drops (they’re salaried). I really hate it because I just know in a year or two they’re gonna say, “well, people are already back 3 days a week, why not 5!” and it’s gonna be like we fucking learned nothing from the pandemic and being able to work remote.
My work started making us go to work 2 days a week a while ago but I sprained my ankle very bad and have been out of the office for a month..my boss is starting to put the pressure on me but PT says I should give a little more time before driving again. My boss keeps getting non compliant reports from above his head and he keeps having to explain me to his boss and boss's boss. I'm stressed and feeling pressured.
Thank God they shut down our huge office in the town that I live because the one they merged us into the next town over cannot possibly fit everyone for 5 days a week so that's off the table lol
Honestly I do prefer being in the office other than waking up earlier. I have big dual monitors, a massive automatic standing desk and a good cafeteria we can order from with a mobile app. I am way more productive in the office. I fuck around so much at home because there's nobody around me who can see me doing it. I miss that structure and want to return to the office asap
What I do find extremely annoying is that I have to park in the back of a massive lot, walk across traffic, and then make my way up to the end of the third floor. It's a good 10 minute walk and I'm usually dripping sweat
Apologies as I know I’ve posted about this before but the Paramount+ app is super shitty. It stops and stutters constantly and usually takes like 10-20 minutes before it seems to stop but never truly stops. I’ve never had an issue with any other streaming app so I assume it’s shitty software/technology for their app but others have posted that they don’t have this issue so idk. It’s so bad at times that I don’t want to try watching something on it I’ve never seen before and resort to using it just as background noise while cleaning or doing whatever and put on a show/movie I’ve already seen a few times so I know I’m not missing anything. Lame.
People who HAVE to back-in to parking spaces. Get over yourself, blocking traffic for no good reason. What is the point?
go in forward and you will have to back out so gonna block people either way. might as well be prepared in case you need to do jason bourne stuff
It always takes longer to back-in than out because it's harder to back into a tiny space than it is to pull out, and it's always some douche in a big ass truck or SUV. People only do it to say "look at me, look at me" and I can't be convinced otherwise.
tbh though i like backing in because then i dont have to worry about people trying to speed by me backing out while my view is obstructed by other cars. or pedestrians coming out of nowhere
Probably lots of posts about this in here over the years but the last few weeks have been insane with people not understanding what the left lane is for on a highway. It’s a passing lane or “drive fast enough that no one is on your ass when you’re in this lane” lane and it’s just wild how many people camp out in that lane and set their cruise control to like 72 in a 70 and bring the road rage out in everybody
