yeah they were ripping up the road in front of my building last month for like 2 weeks to replace pipes. So frustrating.

 

Had the power in my kitchen and living room go out Friday. Reset the outlets, flipped breaker etc and checked the fuse box (probably a fuse). Contacted my landlord, said everything I've already tried, and they sent someone out today. I wasn't home but girlfriend was, they just did everything I tried then said it's the fuse (old building) and they'll be back on Thursday. Like seriously my apartment is a maze of extension cords just to keep the fridge running and internet going.

 

I have a goddamn city skyline being built 20 feet from the back of my apartment building. Thankfully my apartment doesn’t face that way but then I get to enjoy the sound of the road being torn up for new lanes and listen to giant equipment rumble down the road 24/7.

It is legit like a 3x5 mile plot of land that used to just be a nice quiet empty field and now we gonna throw some fucking hotels in there, an Olive Garden and probably half a dozen Dollar Generals and shitty fast money places. Oh and probably another Kwik Trip or two because apparently the city I live in needs one every 2 miles. We literally have 5-6 in a city of 45K and almost all of them are on the same main road through town, just about 2-3 miles apart. People from out of town constantly think they’re losing their mind lol. “Is that another fucking Kwik Trip? Did I go in a circle??”

 

New apartment owners, and as I stated before, they blasted rent to the moon.

so they raised rent about $400+ a month for most units.

they also took away the free cable and internet that was included (so, what, like 100 a month at absolute least?)

And took away your free underground parking spot but you can buy it back (50 a month, please).

and now the app they allow for payments will have a $3.95 “service fee” each month.

And what improvements to my apartment have I experienced? I’ll let you know, when I get one.

But thankfully they painted the hallways a bland ass gray and installed cheap fake wood in 10 feet of the second floor landing for… reasons.

 

Those bullshit service fees just to pay rent are so fucked.

 

Literally got an email today that we're going to be charged a fee for paying rent on the app now. Such bullshit.

 

People at my apartment complex keep parking in the emergency fire lane and aside from the obvious of it being bad if an actual emergency vehicle needs to be there, people keep parking in the fire lane at the entrance of the complex which makes the space for cars entering the complex harder to drive thru because the entrance is more narrow where the fire lane is and then widens up after the fire lane. It's very obvious cars aren't meant to park there but it's legit every single day. I'm about to be petty enough to start taking pics every day and emailing them to the apartment manager.

Likewise, I was at a children's medically fragile hospital recently and someone had the audacity to park their sports car with no disabled placard or plates in the one spot designated for the wheelchair access van for transporting the kids.

People suck

 

Our new secretary, along her husband (who visits daily), is SO LOUD. And I empathize, because I can unknowingly become a loud person when I'm excited too. But like...SO loud. I can hear them at normal volume with my office door shut. They're door slammers. Every sneeze is an Oppenheimer-level event. It's just all very histrionic (and they're theater people, go figure). They're also very nice, and in a different headspace, I probably wouldn't even notice, but with my anxiety as high as it is right now, it's just...a lot.

I helped my brother-in-law move today. 9:30-4:40. Both big toes have blisters even though I obviously wore socks and tennis shoes. Weird.

 

I’m having a panic attack rn and I give it two thumbs down!

 

I’ve been there. Sleep, doing something I enjoy (reading a favorite series for me), or leaving the triggering situation usually help me.

Look if you want ur nachos to sit out in the hot sun in a kiddie pool that's ur prerogative! As long as you layer. I got nachos tonight and the restaurant didn't layer so I have all these plain chips at the bottom smh
