I was making a meal that required me to weigh things only for my scale to have the battery die. And it’s one of those funny round batterie that no one keeps extra of
Living in Ohio. This state is truly the worst and dumb me went and bought a house here lol but I see what rent costs everywhere else so I guess I’ll stay here with my $550 mortgage payment (that’s including taxes/insurance!!) Really the only positive thing about this place is it’s cheap!
My mom and brother both have mortgages in the 400s. I bought at a “worse” time lol my mom bought her last house 10 years ago for $50,000. It’s not that cheap anymore but still cheap as hell. It’s just boring and I have to always drive to Cleveland or Pittsburgh if I want to do anything fun which for normal people wouldn’t be a big deal. But driving is my least favorite thing soooo I kinda hate it here!
Goddamn. The lowest mortgage around my area that I would be comfortable with would be like $1,500 a month (not including the typical bills - electric, internet, etc.) and that currently would get me a house that looks like the left over remnants of a serial killers house lol. I get there are dozens and dozens of even more expensive cities and areas than where I live but never expected my tiny boring city to get blown up with costs so absurd.
We payed $585 a month rent for a two story house when we lived in Warren, Pa. Probably my favorite place I've ever lived. Super cozy little town.
I have more responsibility at my job than my coworkers but am being paid the same amount. Asked for a raise and my boss told me they "don't give raises ever." Only way to make more money is to be promoted and there are very few higher positions and no one ever leaves. And this is why I stay in Ohio lol Only place I can afford bc I'm paid so little and no company in my field pays more and I have no skills/didn't go to college so finding something in a different field is really hard.
Saying they don't give raises ever is insane, especially when taking into account that inflation exists, sorry to hear Even if you can't find a company that pays more, maybe try finding a place that at least gives raises after a certain amount of time?
Basically everyone is assigned certain accounts and they do it this way bc we are paid on production and each account has different requirements. I am given every account possible instead so it is very stressful bc I have to slow my production down if I'm not as familiar with the account and read the rules which means I make less money. We are also monitored on away from the computer time and have to type so many words or we get fired so it's hard to just slack off really. I keep looking for different companies but my field is kind of dying so there aren't many left. I'm sick of making not even $30,000 a year and am beyond burned out! And I've been doing it for like 15 years and this is the best company I've worked for so that says it all really lol
My work doesn't give people-specific raises unless you hit milestones like X amount of years worked. And periodically they do cost of living raises for everyone that don't reflect the cost of living. I used to do soooo many different additional duties in my job and was being paid the same as everyone else so now i try to set firm boundaries. It's like jobs expect u to appreciate just getting the experience and that should be enough smh.
I’m trying to transfer my phone number from my old phone to my new one via e sim and it’s telling me my old phone has to be iOS 16 or later, which it is. Like the first iOS 16 but nothing comes up.
I’ve been unemployed for six months and desperate for money, so I’m working for Amazon as a delivery driver and let me tell you, it sucks shit. My instructor on my first delivery day took a piss in bottles twice because he wanted to make sure we didn’t fall too behind on our route.
Thanks man! I pray that it’s just temporary until I find a job more suited to my skillset. It’s interesting because you see how Amazon skirts regulations. They tell you the importance of breaks and whatnot. But they have you on such strict metrics that they warn you you should not fall behind on, so you feel bad for taking any breaks. It’s fucked.
