Tiny Things That Annoy You • Page 325

  1. Truly wild. I can't stress enough how calm I was during the entire exchange. Dude asked me about sampling in music, which I have knowledge of, and anytime he said something wrong, I would respond with, "I understand what you're saying, but that's not correct." His voice just kept getting higher and louder. This is the same dude that scolded me for buying a candy bar once because "you're always complaining about how you can't afford a car." Unhinged levels of narcissism

that candy bar shit is hilarious

  3. It literally broke my brain. I'm never had someone say something so audacious and blatantly insane as that to me, without a hint of irony. Should have dropped him then

How much could a candy bar cost, @Aaron Mook? Ten dollars?

  6. Same dude saw me on the elevator today and tried to pretend something happened. "You know what I do when I'm angry? I buy things. I bought a guitar."

I almost came back with "I bet you did making twice as much as me and all," but instead I put my headphones on and ignored him. Prick.

I get migraines and headaches easily and one day a week I work late and take a kid home and usually get a migraine. she likes to listen to the pop station. Without fail at least a few times the weeknd comes on during the drive and man his voice does not jive with my migraines. It hits this specific nerve and I die inside.

My fiance just started taking Ubrelvy for her migraines and it has worked wonders for her after years of failed treatments! Might be worth asking your doc about :)

Stupid expensive without insurance though. Like $1000 for 8 pills

My apartment lease is up next June. New owners took over a few months ago and learned today that someone who just renewed their lease had their rent increased $400 a month. I’ve lived here 11 years and don’t think I’ve had it raised $400 over that entire time. Not sure what size apartment they had but even if it was the absolute biggest unit that still means likely at least $150-$200 increase for my one bedroom.

Sadly, likely will still be the cheapest unit in town but still is gonna suck. Thankfully I can still afford that increase and not go broke and at least I know well in advance it will be going up a lot. and maybe now will take this almost year ahead of time knowledge and decide if I want to buy a house instead of continuing to rent. Never thought astronomical increases would come to my tiny city but here we are.

Also have to keep a steady head and remember I can’t let things outside of my control and in the future freak me out now, that doesn’t help anything.

I was shocked my landlord only raised our rent $100/month last year. He had the house appraised a few months ago, so I'm guessing he'll either raise the rent by a higher amount this year or try to sell the place. The dude wanted us to fix a broken window with cardboard and duck tape, so my opinion of him is low (and it's typically already low for landlords).

We’re moving out of the place we’ve been renting for 5 years at the end of the month and the property management people are doing TWO walk throughs. One late next week and another after we actually move out. Super weird and inconvenient. Will also be the most they’ve checked on the place the whole time we’ve lived here

People who drive slow as fuck in the left lane drive me crazy. And it’s almost always old people. If people are passing you on the right take the hint!

When people tailgate you even though there's clearly a slower car in front of you and there's nothing you can do about it.

This is really bad in California. I've driven a good amount in a few other states and everyone else seems to understand that you use the left lane for passing or going faster in general, but not in Cali.

I once passed a Prius on the right who had a handwritten sign in his rear window that he was driving "slow" (5 mph under the speed limit at the time) to save the environment, I shit you not. He was an old dude like you said. How about you get the fuck off the road and bike if that's what you want to do.

Fuel efficiency doesn’t really start to drop until you reach speeds higher than 60. And how smoothly you drive makes much more of a difference on gas mileage than how fast.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), most cars’ fuel efficiency peaks at speeds from 35 to 60 miles per hour. After 60, though, fuel efficiency does drop significantly; the DOE says that every 5 miles per hour you drive above 60 is like paying an additional 24 cents per gallon for gas. That’s because at higher speeds your car encounters more wind resistance and the tires encounter more rolling resistance.

Once you get your car going, though, it takes remarkably little energy to keep it going, even at 60 mph, according to Terry Penney, technology manager for advanced vehicles for the DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo. But getting it rolling burns up a lot of gas, which is why you should listen to your old driver’s-ed teacher and drive as if there’s an egg between your foot and the gas pedal. The DOE estimates that constantly accelerating and decelerating can cut your mileage by as much as 33 percent. The fact is, easing up on jackrabbit starts and Indy-500-style highway maneuvers will save you more money than puttering along at 55.

AI generated music videos, and album 'art' (ABR is a recent one for example) are lazy and usually look like shit. I think the obsession with AI in general is annoying and terrible for artists across the board whether it be visual, music, or whatever other medium. I've been seeing it everywhere lately and it bugs me pretty much any time I see it.
