I would never disparage the fine city of Philadelphia or any of their fine sports teams, this is unrelated to the fact that that city scares the shit out of me

I want to get into pro sports so I can bond with my male family members. But the histories of the players and teams, stats, rankings, etc is so overwhelming. Everyone on the team wears the same clothes and colors too, so I can’t really tell them a part unless I’m really into it or watching a post game discussion.

How easily startled I am. Like if someone opens a door that I’m about to use from the other side and I’m not expecting it, I automatically gasp/ squeak and jump away almost every time. The same happens if anyone walks past me from behind and I don’t hear them coming. Even when a coworker suddenly calls my name to get my attention, I get spooked.

I get there’s a practical benefit in being able to react quickly in potentially threatening situations, but a lot of times it’s in places like my apartment building or the supermarket or at the office, and sometimes I can see it makes people feel bad or scares them back and I feel guilty about that.

The most annoying thing I see when I'm looking at houses for sale on Zillow in Oklahoma is garages being converted into bedrooms. Give me a garage! Even if it's a 1 car garage! The weather in Oklahoma frequently sucks.

Any room can be a garage if you believe in yourself

  14. Yeah but next thing you know you’re sleeping with your clothes on and coming in through the window. It’s a real slippery slope

Ordering food online for takeout and it’s like “your order will be ready in 30 minutes!” but you’re not sure if they’re the kind of place that will actually delay making your order so that it’s ready at the pickup time or if they’re the kind of place that will make it immediately and leave it sitting for 20 minutes

Technology and not having a solution for something.

Tried adding a credit card to the wallet in my phone and it won’t let me because it says it is expired. The card expires in 2026. I typed that in - same result. I had my phone scan it, shows the correct date from the card - same result, says it’s expired. Like what the fuck how am I supposed to solve that.

not quite the same thing but I hate when a reliance on tech makes something simple more difficult. In grad school I had to unexpectedly change some rotations around but couldn’t. Not because it was against the rules. It was a very sensible and somewhat necessary move, but the scheduling software they used didn’t have a way to do it. And apparently we can’t stick a post it note somewhere in admin telling them to ignore it and to count things differently.

When I see people complain about rude customers (obv not ok to be rude for no season), BUT no one ever talks about rude employees, and when you do, an excuse gets thrown “maybe they had a bad day!, you better give them a tip regardless!, who cares, they don’t get paid enough! (not the customers problem)”. And those are a just a few excuses I’ve heard. If it’s ok for workers to be rude for no reason with the excuse of “bad day”, then we maybe need to look at it the other way as well? Maybe the customer had a bad day? Maybe the worker needs to give good service regardless since the customers is expected to give a good tip even if the employee is rude af. How about that logic. Since not many seem to know how to be polite these days anymore.

  22. IMO everyone should make an effort to be as polite as possible, especially to strangers, but I'm almost always going to give the benefit of the doubt to the service worker based on personal experience and the circumstances that may be keeping them in the service industry unless their attitude is like...egregiously bad. They take shit all day and I can afford to be minorly inconvenienced from time to time without piling onto whatever problems they already have. But again, that's me, and there are exceptions to the rule.

  23. Fortunately, I can't think of a specific time when an employee was rude to me. At least not enough for it to stick with me, apparently. So that's good. I don't even think I've ever requested they send my food back.

it's mostly been elderly women (which I get, you're old and you're on your feet all day at some grocery store)

it's always a blast and definitely doesn't make you sad or anything else
