I feel like most Marketing tactics don’t work on me, but one that does that bugs me is when something is listed as “hard to find” or “limited quantities available” and I end up buying something that I wouldn’t have if it wasn’t listed as such lol To be clear this doesn’t happen with everything that gets marked as such, but if it’s a subject/somewhat of an interest of mine I’ll end up buying it just in case I really want it later. Guess I get hit with the FOMO, goddammit
I go grocery shopping for my grandma every week which I don't mind bc she can't go herself. But she is so vague and only shops the sales so I'm like wtf does she actually want??? Today she wrote "beef roast - on sale" So I go and there are like 6 different kinds and all are on sale. I'm a vegetarian and have been since I was 14. I am the last person who should be making this decision! I need specifics!!! I eventually asked a nice old man what he would buy and bought that lmao I was so lost!!
I had to use PTO a 2nd time this week because of construction on the apartment nextdoor. Today the new owners gave me a notice that they have to go into my apartment next week to replace my breaker box because it isn't up to code, that I might be out of power 2 days in the middle of the week. As someone with a remote job, this means I can't work. At this rate I will have used half my Personal Days for the year in the first month. This company has owned my complex 2 weeks and they have already bothered me more than then previous company did in the 2 years they had it. I have lived here almost 4 years and this is the first time I felt like "you're living in someone else's ill advised fixer upper investment project" was blatant and not subtle. Just take my rent money and leave me the fuck alone.
I feel like… there has to be some sort of ordinance that they would be breaking with this. Or something like “interfering with normal living conditions” or something that would be a problem they have to figure out, not you. You can’t just take have someone have no power for 2 days. Not sure where you live but like, uh, heat? It’s January. And like, uh, food in fridge/freezer goes to shit in two days. And I’m not super smart and maybe there is variation there - does water still work without power? I think water yes but water heater would be out so I guess hope you like cold showers? Seems like either rent for the month should be lowered or they should be able to figure out how to do whatever they need to do faster than 2 whole days it’s fucking 2023.
Well I'm assuming it could up to 2 days. they said it would be 1/2 of the day without power but could possibly take 2 days or more to get the job done. The notice they gave wasn't very clear. Water still works here without power, just no heated water.
Ahhh gotcha and that’s probably a carefully worded way for them to phrase it that way if it does turn into 2 days (hopefully not) they can say, “well we thought it would only be a half day”.
Still waiting and it has occurred to me that he didn’t eat this morning (because he likes to sleep in) so he probably hasn’t eaten since last night and this sucks lol
We got confirmation earlier this week that due to redistricting my kids are moving Elementary schools next school year and we're pretty upset by it
Man that stinks. Is it more of an issue with the new school quality or your kids having to change routine/friends/etc?
It seems like the school is just as good ratings wise and we are still zoned to the same middle and high schools, so that's good. It's definitely more the social aspect and the closeness of the current school. Plus we just really like the teachers and school itself.
