There’s this girl I work with, she’s nice, but she struggles to really do anything and she’s been here for like 6 months I think. I asked her like 5 times to help me with something, she acknowledges but doesn’t do help

 

My parents bought a Roku TV so it comes with like 6,000 channels but the remote is the size of a bite-size candy bar and has no fucking numbers on it so you have to either literally scroll up and down for hours to get back to a channel you wanted to watch or you have to pre-program each channel as a favorite so it shows up as like an app on the Home Screen.

Very bizarre but these tv’s have been around for awhile now so people must get it to work or maybe everyone buys universal remotes but my god what a nightmare when I just wanted to find a normal regular channel while I visited for an hour today lol

 

Seriously, between all the different streaming services, remote types, and devices used to access said streaming services it’s impossible to just come over to someone’s house and watch TV

 

Agreed. The more I think about it the more I think the focus or aim of Roku TV is to be a big screen version of your phone or iPad. The 6,000 plus channels are things like “Fail Army channel”, “Hell’s Kitchen channel”, “MST3K channel” and then about 100 news channels - with 90 of them being specific to cities which was actually weirdly kind of neat. Turned on the San Diego and Philadelphia news channels for a bit which was surreal to get so much specific info on the cities as if I lived there lol

And your post reminds me of years ago when I was babysitting my cousins at their house and their mom spent 10 minutes showing me how to work the tv and shit because it’s not just “turn it on and here’s to find the guide with channel names” like it used to be

 

At least there’s like 20 game show channels which is all you really need

 

i miss just going back and forth between 2 channels with one button, numbers, PIP, etc. even having a bunch of streaming services is still better than cable but what an annoying physical experience.

Also hot take but I am not a fan of the Apple TV 4K remotes. Never had an old one so I can’t compare but the wheel is way too sensitive and un-intuitive. Got the hang of it now but took months. Channels, buttons, and arrows were better.

You sure this is Roku TV? It sounds an awful lot like the Pluto app (maybe on a Roku TV). A little frustrating for sure, but it's a great source of free television, especially if you like a certain show that they air 24/7.

 

My hair when I excercise. It never stays up. I suck at hair and when I put it in a bun or ponytail without fail it immediately falls down as soon as I start doing anything and then it gets sweaty on the back of my neck. It feels like with every scrunchie or rubber band it should wrap around once more to get it to feel snug but when I try it breaks the hair tie. A ponytail is like hair 101 and I cannot do it right. I know there are people with hair thicker than mine who can do it. I am the problem.

 

I was at the movie theater and got a pop fountain drink at one of those “freestyle” machines. I placed the cup under the spout thing and pressed the button. The drink got to the top, so I let go of the button…but it was stuck. The button was pressed even when I let go and the pop wouldn’t stop coming out. It over flowed my cup and splash onto the floor and got someone waiting behind me all wet. The pop still kept pouring out, so I found more cups and filled them up, one after another until the pop eventually stopped after I filled three cups. It was a nightmare. me and all my clothes are sticky.

 

Thick hair problems over here. My hair doesn’t stay in a pony tail or messy bun. Unless it’s tight or I double up. I’ve actually been using a scrunchie only because the reg pony’s cause breakage and i already have breakage.

I went to my dads house to do laundry because the washers where I live suck and I end up spending nearly $20 and I’m broke af. Because the washer at his house is far better and has the extra rinse option (which I heard you want to do), it took me all day to do my laundry instead of a few hours. Got there at 9am and almost done

Big fail, resubscribed to home chef (similar to hello fresh) and didn't think to update my address so it's on long Island and I'm not coming all the way from Brooklyn to get it. They credited my account but still sucks now I have to go buy food

We always have someone at the front desk at my work that doesn’t know what they’re doing. The girl that’s been there the longest is leaving in a few months, the other girl (who’s been here for a while) is just always confused and doesn’t know. I’ll pass along info and she seems like she doesn’t understand. The other day I was explaining something how the patient chart is wrong and why and she says “that happens sometimes” Uhm WHAT!? No. The mistakes made are something that shouldn’t have been made- I can’t explain it. I explained to her this isn’t something we want mistakes to be made on and now it’s more work to correct it. I also think she’s leaving soon or working from home part time and now este getting one or 2 new people, who of course won’t know how to do anything and it circles back around yet again
