I was a cashier in high school, was my first official job. I actually went as fast as I could because I didn’t want to have customers standing in my line. I was a cashier at wal-mart and we all weirdly built a bond like a tv show since we were all high school kids. We would hurry people through so we could talk, we’d turn our lights out and put “lane closed” signs up when we’d see some grandma with an overflowing cart stumbling towards us because we knew that would be an hour-long experience

Random memory rant that just came to me: I’ll never forget the crazy lady that didn’t want me putting the cat food over the scanner because it “does stuff to the food” so you had to fucking type in the 25 digit bar code for every can and she legit bought 100’s at a time. I’d count how many she had and ring them all up under the same UPC code and then got scolded because that showed we showed 160 cans of tuna mix when maybe she only had 20 of those and 7-8 other flavors. I’m a high school kid making $8 an hour, you want it right, do it yourself. Weirdest of all was that she was fine with human food going over the scanner, just the cat food she refused to allow it and would watch

 

But yes, at grocery stores they look like fucking drones so I always end up using the self check outs because they always look so pissed at people in line, but like, having customers makes the day go faster (it did for me at least) versus just standing there for hours on end. And idk why but I never see cashiers talk to each other anymore so it seems so isolated and miserable.

 

Self checkout gives me anxiety. One Walmart near me that’s all the have. No checkers. Sometimes I have questions and it’s just easier for me to go in a checkout with a cashier.

 

How many unmasked people they’re are in stores and stores not giving a shit as always since the beginning. Especially with the increased number of people during the holidays and the omicron variant.

 

Where i live most people wear masks but it's not uncommon to see people who don't in stores. But when I stopped at a convenience store in an even smaller more rural town I was the only one wearing a mask and it was very jarring.

 

Back when the vaccine was still somewhat readily available to people I heard stories from friends and coworkers that were vaccinated that people would grumble at them in stores to get vaccinated. They thought that because people were wearing masks that they were unvaccinated but they were doing it as a precaution but eventually stopped wearing a mask because they were sick of the looks of comments.

I imagine that’s happened to a lot of folks before omicron popped up, which probably also didn’t help put an end to things / slow things down to a manageable level.

 

even the vaxxed can catch and spread the virus. That’s why the masks went back on for vaxxed. I knew that was going to happen. I think two weeks of “fully vaxxed don’t have to wear a mask”, then it was “jk gotta wear your mask again”.

 

Tell me why 40 yr old men don’t know how to talk to women -.-

 

They moved the mail boxes at my apt, and it’s even higher and more harder for me to reach. I already had trouble reaching it since mine is on the top row. Not sure if this is temporary (they’re doing construction) or what but yeah I can’t even get to my mail

 

People who drive too slow in the snow. And I don't mean a nice slow safe speed but one that is so slow that all the other cars behind them lose their momentum and get stuck

 

Getting stuck behind someone taking forever at an ATM

 

when u try to turn left at a busy light but the person in front of u doesnt know to scoot into the intersection and just go when its going yellow/red so everybody in line has to wait another light cycle.

 

this happened to be today. Drives me crazy. Another thing that drives me insane is slow drivers in the left lane.

 

haha my dad does this shit i think because hes from cali where passing on the left just isnt as much a thing. how he doesnt get run off the road i dont know, i worry for him.

 

Totally witnessed a “Karen”. I went to the store near my work instead of my usual location because I wanted to see if they had some items that my normal location didn’t have. Karen was totally rude to the lady at the deli counter. Karen tried to call her rude and then even asked for the manager. Of course Karen was unmasked! A lot of people here are unmasked and it gives me so much anxiety. People these days smh. The lady didn’t do anything except wash her hands before she helps Karen and her family. Karen was so impatient and got rude.

 

I’m not sure how I found myself in this thread but it annoys me when people I don’t know park on the street in front of my house. It really annoys me to an extra degree when people just sit in their cars idling in front of my house. I am trying to work through it but it might be something I just have to live with and occasionally confuse people by asking things like “what are you doing, how long will you be parked there?”

 

The construction people in my apt are out here working at 6:30am. Not sure if that’s allowed. Again, I never got a notice about workers working and days and times. Not sure if I should report this to the office

also just drivers in general. if you drive a car then fuck you HA

 

Becoming obsessed with small independent artists on insta or tiktok or something but then their stuff is always sold out.

 

Why do some emails only show up on my phone? Got an email about a year recap for my running watch but can’t view the report on my phone, but the email doesn’t even show up on my Mac, what the fuck.

Edit: oh “all mail” and “inbox” are… are different folders? This is really more convoluted than it needs to be, it’s just fucking emails lmao

 

When it’s raining and you’re walking inside somewhere but in order to get inside you have to pass through a veil of super thicc raindrops dripping from the perimeter of the dirty ass roof

 

The cold. Get out of here. I know other places are colder but -8 feels like -21?? I don't think so

On a related note, when I'm wearing mittens and they get caught on my keyring and it snags rhe fabric.
