Spin is an absolutely massive jump in quality from their previous stuff for me.

 

I still don't really like this nearly as much as I love everything else. my least favorite album from them not including belongs to the dead

 

you take that back.

 

I want to so bad. I keep trying with it. I do see the appeal too, but I think a lot of the things people like is at the expense of a lot of the things I really liked about their songs. so I still like this, but not as much as I could've. also all the in reverie comparisons before it came out probably heightened my expectations a lot

 

that being said Brianna wrote one of the bands all time best songs, for sure

 

Not huge on spin, but I like everything else a lot. I feel like it's a transitional record for them.

 

legit cant wait to see what they have in store next.

 

Spin is a great collection of really well written 4 bar rock songs.

 

yeah, this is what I'm hoping for as well. especially if Brianna is gonna contribute more, this is likely to be the case since she's just writing her first songs

right?! absolutely infectious, a perfect song. I mean it's not like she isn't experienced vocally which is the best part of like at least three different hooks that song has so it makes sense. and she did collaborate on Hum iirc which is another of their best songs

 

“June” was actually the first song that I’ve ever written, and I’ve found that I really enjoy collaborating—taking the bones of what I’m working on and seeing what someone could add to it. For “June,” I knew that I wanted [my friend] Nikki to collaborate with me on lyrics. I wanted her voice and experience of the situation to be present and accurately represented, and she’s also an amazing writer and the person I always go to bounce ideas off. She’s my best friend, the one that knows exactly what I want to say without me even having to say it, so it was a meaningful experience to work on this song together.

tbh Adam is such a large presence on those songs that I'm not sure we get one without him. the whole band is a large presence on those songs and they're much different now. idk
