October-March as a rollout is gross, haha. I have to wonder if that has anything to do with COVID and the hope that touring will be more possible later next year.
they said when it dropped that it wouldn't be on the record, it was just indicative of what the record would sound like
warn me came on shuffle the other day and I think I like that song more than anything they've released from the new lp :(
After seeing Tigers Jaw twice during Best Friends Forever and now looking forward to seeing them again during Something In The Way, I have now become a fan! I had never given them a proper listen until now. Giving their entire catalog of music a listen all this week and gonna rank the albums. I also realize they have a massive amount of "non-album" music to keep up with, so I gotta figure out what all they have released in chronological order as a new fan coming in with fresh ears.
I posted this on the Tigers Jaw subreddit, but I figured it would be ok to post this here too. Compiling all of Tigers Jaw's "non-album" full band studio releases. Am I missing any? RARITIES (2009 - 2025) Spirit Desire - Spirit Desire EP (2009) We Are Great, There Is Only One (Tigers Jaw) - Spirit Desire EP (2009) Crystal Vision - Spirit Desire EP (2009) Meet at the Corner - Spirit Desire EP (2009) Lodging - Split EP with Balance and Composure (2010) Jet Alone - Split EP with Balance and Composure (2010) Danielson - Split EP with Balance and Composure (2010) Dent - Split EP with Balance and Composure (2010) Jimmy Piersall - Split EP with The Sidekicks (2011) Boots 'N Hanks - Split EP with The Sidekicks (2011) Distress Signals - Mixed Signals Compilation (2011) My Friend Morrissey - Split EP with Tiny Empires (2012) No Mask / Haze Coffin - Split EP with Tiny Empires (2012) Gypsy (Fleetwood Mac cover) - Run For Cover Records Subscription Singles Series #3 (2011) Jimmy Piersall (Alternate Version) - Run For Cover Records Subscription Singles Series #3 (2011) Fake Death - Split EP with The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, Code Orange, and Self Defense Family (2013) Carry You Over - Off the Board: A Studio 4 Family Compilation (2013) In Between Days (The Cure cover) - Split Single with Kevin Devine (2015) Eyes Shut - Eyes Shut EP (2019) Warn Me - Warn Me Single (2020) Old Clothes - Old Clothes EP (2022) Swear - Old Clothes EP (2022) Reckless - Old Clothes EP (2022) Waltz - Old Clothes EP (2022) Constant Headache (Joyce Manor cover) - Split Single with Joyce Manor (2023) Berlin (Spanish Love Songs feat. Tigers Jaw) - Single with Spanish Love Songs (2025) Notes: All of these tracks can be found on all the streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) I did not include acoustic recordings on this list, except maybe the Alternate Version of Jimmy Piersall. I was going for all of the "full band" tracks if that makes sense. I'm organizing a separate list for all of the officially released "acoustic/solo" recordings. Distress Signals on the Misery Signals compilation is slightly different from the version on Charmer I know Jet Alone and Danielson are on Belongs To The Dead, but the versions on the Balance and Composure split are the "newer" full band versions.
alright, after spending the last few weeks listening to the whole catalog, here are my album rankings 1. Tigers Jaw (they caught lightning in a bottle with this, I don't know how they can top an album that defines them) 2. I Don't Care How You Remember Me (best sounding record, most honed in songwriting, songs are diverse, strongest musicality, in some ways the best album they've done but the self-titled is so definitive that it is too hard to surpass) 3. Spin (a lot of really great songs individually; some of them have too much of the same feel, but I'm still finding myself listening to it over and over again from start to finish) 4. Charmer (could surpass Spin, but as of now I like Spin more) 5. Two Worlds (a really good record, but sounds like they had a hard time following the masterpiece self-titled album. Reminds me of Green Day following Dookie with Insomniac, NOFX following Punk In Drublic with Heavy Petting Zoo, and Mom Jeans following Best Buds with Puppy Love) 6. Belongs To The Dead (almost feels like a different band; the re-recorded versions of Heat, The Sun, Danielson, and Jet Alone are all better than their original versions)
thats pretty close to mine except two worlds is one for me and self titled is somewhere near the middle. went from not being a fan of charmer at all for years to really digging it recently. think all of their most recent 5 are very very good
