Album is enjoyable, but it sort of sounds like Tigers Jaw on auto pilot to me. Some songs really blend together, and some sound almost the same as older stuff. Going to listen to it more to really hone in an opinion, but so far it's good, not great.

I think the singles are probably the best tracks.

Brianna's voice reminds me of Sheri Dupree

 

I really enjoyed this during my first listen. It sounds like they took what worked well about Charmer and tightened it up even more. I've been really fortunate the past two weeks, first with Paramore and now Tigers Jaw. Both will be excellent albums to have for the summer.

 

The entire month has been incredible. Three of my top four of the year came out on May 5th. It's insane

 

I don't feel like it's auto pilot, it's just honing in on one particular sound and sound it really really well in different variations and tempos. I normally like my music more dynamic than this but damn the hooks are so good

 

Funny thing is the last 4 songs actually offer some variation, would have been interesting if it worked better mixing those into the middle/ beginnning of the record more. But I think bullet and escape plan provide enough contrast early in the record for ke that it still works.

After 4-5 listens same stone really sticks out.. what a song, beautiful keyboard work too

 

I honestly think Guardian might be my favorite. That song is perfect.

 

This does tend to blend a bit after my first listen through. I really like Escape Plan and Guardian. Gonna need more time with this to start differentiating the songs more.

 

I've never really listened to them before, but I just checked out one of the new songs and liked what I heard. Plan to check out the full album later today. Is there another one by them I should make sure to check out?

 

Charmer

 

Their S/T is a classic

 

First time I listened to it it did blend together a bit, but on my 4th or 5th listen the songs differentiate themselves in interesting ways. This is a minor nitpick, but on the track "Window" the change up on the last 5 seconds of the track should have lasted way longer then that, that's just cause I love that part so much.

Overall I think this is great, and shit man when an album puts me in an instant good mood when listening to it and I'm singing along at the top of my lungs, then I know it's got staying power.

I second Charmer. I personally prefer Charmer to S/T

 

This is definitely great and a lot of the songs have very strong choruses. But it is a little "samey" but I'm sure after multiple listens the songs will start standing out to me more. Definitely miss Adams vocals on here but they did a great job regardless

All three of Brianna's songs are wonderful. Going forward, I wouldn't be upset at all if they did more of a Menzingers 50/50 (or 60/40 if we're talking about ATP) split between her and Ben.

I think it's the same touring band they've had for awhile now.

Luke Schwartz (used to play with Sharks & MDAM), the drummer who played with Fireworks for the last few years and I'm not sure if the other guitarist did anything prior.

very intrigued to see what smidley does tonight too, wonder if we'll get a single foxing song or if it'll just be stuff off this album with maybe a cover. especially since it's not out yet

 

They're great! You'll enjoy and I'm curious of that as well. I believe it's a full band thing for Smidley so I'd imagine it will be all stuff off the album? I'm not sure though. Let me know how it goes! My date is still over a month out :(

Guardian was my favorite single, and it's my favorite on the whole album. Enjoy the whole thing a lot though.
