8 songs deep really love this so far.

Only complaint is the they seem to be over using the 2 and 4 feel a little bit. It helps the record drive throughout but I personally liked that charmer was constantly changing up the feel to their songs. It's a minor complaint but something I picked up on.

Then oh time comes on and pretty much tells me to go eff myself.

alright finished the record, final thoughts sorry for posting so many times in a row. I think this record does an excellent job at tigers jaw 2.0. love their harmonies together and I think that Brianna is just dipping her feet in with song writing but her songs are really really good. I could imagine them splitting up the song writing duties a bit more on the next record and it working really really well. Melodies are super catchy and the band has done an excellent job at capturing a lot of different sounds while going back to their more pop punk roots. If this is what modern pop punk actually sounded like I would listen to it all the time bc GOD DAMN this record is catchy without being over repetitive or redundant. Yipp's production is really good here, everything comes out super clean and all of the parts can be heard really well. Guitar tones are fantastic as always and you can tell he's really growing as a producer. Can't wait to dive into this more, and this will be another really fun summer record.

Your thoughts on the mixing? For yip the vocals are extremely loud in the mix. Do you think he did that on purpose since it's a major label release?

From the two tracks I've heard everything has sounded good. I think he's made vast improvements in the past 2-3 years

Idk if I'd say it's because it's a major label release, more so that this is a vocal centric band and record and he probably wanted to make the melodies pop more. Not a lot of bands he works with write such poppy ear wormy hooks so it's gonna sound different than his other work

it's not like they worked with bigger producers or anything because they were on a major label, i'd bet the album was done by the time yip had this label thing come up

it's not like they had label managers the whole time influencing their decisions

On a podcast I listen to he did say that he was playing the mixes for label executives while mixing the record. However he did say that they did not ask him to make any changes and that they loved the mixes as they were. Makes me think that he was at least aware that this is a major label release while mixing it

Yeah knowing it was gonna be on a major label probably even subconsciously affected some decisions he made but I think it's close enough to his style and the sound of charmer that I don't think it was a direct influence

I also want to add I in no way think it's a bad thing, I think it works really well and helps make the album even more accessible.

What are everyone's highlights outside of the singles

    For me right now
    Window
    Same stone
Oh time (love the jump to double time)
    And favorite

I think there's something I love about every song. Bullet is such a great song but I almost had wished it stayed acoustic the entire time bc of the reason I mentioned above, sounds so good in those two quiet parts l.

Some early thoughts on the album

    - I liked every single song on this thing
    - Second half is better then the first I think, that may be because the singles are from the first half and I already heard them
    - Wish there was a song like "Divide" or "Hum" on here
    - Ben and Brianna have never sounded better, Brianna on "Brass Ring" kills it
    - "Bullet" is an absolute jam, may be my favorite song they have ever done.
    - Favorite songs on here are "Bullet", "Oh Time", "Brass Ring", "Favorite"
    - Too early to rank it against their discography

The band are probably one of the best in the "pop/punk" scene for melodies.
