lol hopeless didn’t botch anything and this was the band’s decision they can’t tour anytime soon so they put a lot of energy and vision into a bunch of music videos
If this wasn’t on the label then the band shouldn’t have announced the album in (checks notes) October. That’s just absurd.
I’m totally on board for them to put a bunch of energy/craft into these music videos it’s just frustrating we’ve known about this album for so long. Some of my favorite releases from last year had a 2 month or less rollout.
Ah forgive me for the crime of assuming that a record label determined the release date of one of their bands' records. Whoever's decision it was, it was a bad one!
You think you’re frustrated? This record has been done since early 2020 and then the pandemic hit - imagine how the band feels
Yeah it is. If they wanted to wait to try and tour on it, which is fine and totally valid, they didn't need to announce the record at all. Because they're not touring on it in March lol
there's a lot about why they've had to hold it for so long in Jeremy Bolm's podcast that was posted in here before
If the band DIDN'T announce it but were hinting at it then people would be yelling "ANNOUNCE IT COWARDS"
They know that - they didn’t want to sit on it any longer because they know they aren’t touring anytime soon
So then put all the time and effort into making music videos and then release them on a shorter schedule? They could've announced in January and released a video every two weeks leading up to the release date. That would've been way better than a five-month rollout with the holidays right in the middle of it all. Also btw people are allowed to have opinions about "how an artist should release art" just the same as they're allowed to have opinions on the art itself.
Anyway The album will be great because this band is great, it's just a head-scratching decision regardless of who made it.
I’m just surprised that a successful band didnt listen to a bunch of forum posters on how to release their new album
