I think Charmer is their most varied and interesting album. I do like Spin but some of it blends together.
The amount of times I’ve listened to this single today is unhealthy. charmer was my favorite album, but at this point I can’t decide between it and Spin.
For me, it’s Spin > Charmer > s/t I’ve been wanting new Tigers Jaw music for a while. March seems so far away.
Ha my thoughts exactly. Went to go look for Spin on vinyl but that appears out of stock, so going with the new album on vinyl and the long sleeve because i am a sucker for those.
Charmer is probably their best. Spin is great but it does feel a little safe at times. Pizza and Two Worlds are cool but I just vastly prefer Charmer.
Yep. I still like TJ but their sound is too generic anymore for me to really sink my teeth into. This new single exemplifies that.
I honestly thought Warn Me was the first single, and I'm bummed it's not on here. I like this song, but Warn Me was sooooo goooooood.
Anyone who dislikes the self titled is lying to themselves. Only album I don't think matches up in their discography is Two Worlds and even that is a fun album.
I gave Charmer a listen again for the first time in years and thought the first track was alright. A few tracks in I started getting a little bored with each track just coming off a little too like the previous ones (which I know is a criticism of spin, the album I do like) and the choruses just not doing it for me. Also I personally don't enjoy very simple, loud synth keys runs (for lack of a better descriptor) which are all over the record. I started skipping through to see if I liked anything later in the record and eventually just turned it off. It's just not for me!
they said when they dropped it that it wouldn't be on the album but was meant to be representative of what the album will sound like
