Every time I put it on I end up watching it like 3 times. Steps Ascending makes me tear up every time
I didn't really start listening to Thursday until way late, like 2013 yet Full Collapse might be #1 for me so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But really all of their albums make cases for being high up. Like lately I've been REALLY getting into Common Existence, and then ACBTLD has so much going on.....it's crazy.
I've got a friend who started listening to Thursday around the same time as me and definitely likes Full Collapse more. We argue about it sometimes
i love full collapse but when i saw them at irving plaza on the weekend i was least hyped for the full collapse songs (the crowd went nuts ofc) and really thrilled about the two nd songs ("sparks against the sun" and closing with "turnpike divides") which the crowd was either unmoved or absent during lol
i really wish i was more into the band when i saw them at the farewell show, was only really into No Devo at the time, but at least we got a ton of songs off of that record. but the first starland show setlist was a perfect complement to that one
I've still yet to see KTHL (if anyone would like to do a random act of kindness and rip it for me that would just be swell) ACBTLD and CE almost feel like a double album to me. Like, ACBTLD is about overwhelming light and how it can be just as dangerous as overwhelming darkness plus it deals with more inner demons whereas CE is more of a dark, extroverted record that touches on more outside themes like fatherhood, marriage, parental abuse, military critique, death, etc. Idk I just think they work so well together.
I feel this way about Common Existence and No Dev. Down to the album cover color schemes mirroring each other
Started listening to Thursday before WATT came out so I have proper nostalgic love for FC. It's so raw and I have an emotional attachment to the album. Having said that ACBTLD is my favourite and IMO is their peak.
no devo is incredible. love how they took their ambient side in more, easily their most "experimental" release
I put ND on while I was sitting in my chair last night. It was like 2am and I was tired as hell, and I fell asleep. So, I basically slept to ND playing on repeat in my sleep. I woke up today in a great mood, and decided to be very productive. Coincidence?
I want one of these: Thursday - No Devolución Though I haven't seen any pictures or anything. That laser-cut packaging sounds sweet.
I just have the regular CD that was ruined when my basement flooded. Had to blow the album booklet dry with a blowdryer :'( Also lost Thrice's TAITA that had lyrics on cardstock pieces of paper, which also allowed you to pick your own cover. Sigh.
i still love ND but i've cooled on it a bit, find myself skipping some songs more than i used to. WATT remains my favorite. but i've been listening to city a lot lately and have a new appreciation for it.
