Mine isn't too terrible compared to what I've heard about others. And I'm hoping so.

 

though the album's anniversary is tomorrow...

 

But realistically, that makes the most sense right now. They definitely haven't recorded anything, I could see it being a signing announcement/ACBTLD reissue with new music in the future

 

I thought "surprise" made that clear sorry!! But also that was why I thought it could be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Geoff posted that insta thing a while back and nothing came of it so....

 

How is that definite?

 

They've been on tour for a hot minute and they have other stuff too, no? Feels like there wouldn't feasibly be enough time for anything big like recording

 

Maybe they recorded in secret in 2016. Well just have to wait and see

 

They had ample time off in 2016... and between their holiday shows through the start of this tour. I've heard rumblings of things, but I can't confirm so I won't start the hype train.

Definitely was the wrong term, but I do think it's unlikely. By all means, I'd love to be completely wrong and be surprised by new music though haha

 

In all the interviews Geoff did before the tour he said they've not recorded anything and they have no plans to record anything and all they were thinking about was doing the tour. ACBTLD reissue isn't so exciting, unless it contains any secret b-sides.

 

Just feel like they'd also take a while to write anything too. But maybe not, I know there was an old interview w Geoff where he said he had songs written after No Dev that he wasn't sure if they'd record or wait on. P sure the interview was from back when their hiatus was a hiatus and not a break up, so it wasn't too late into their absence but like can't really hold him to something he said years ago in passing sooo

 

I'm keeping my expectations at a 7" with a couple new songs. Anything more is just gravy

 

I'd be cool with this.

 

I wonder if their small summer tour will be a 10-year ACBTLD anniversary tour. If that's the case, I'd be beyond jealous.

 

i doubt it, because ACBTLD came out in 2006...

 

Ah, you're correct. And I knew that...but then got thrown off when someone earlier said that in a few days it was the anniversary of the album and I just assumed 10 years.

Smart money is on using Rise to reissue the back catalog. But I would love to be proven wrong it turns out to be new music!

 

I'm anticipating new music. Not sure how much. But I will be very, very shocked if that is not the case. I hope that they do reissue the back catalog as well.
