Brother sister is their best but catch is a good starting point if you don't want to start at their peak
Some of their best songs are on pale horses to be fair but B, S is still the best they've done. pale horses is like tied for second
Brother, Sister definitely. It's their best album and the best bridge between their early and latter day work.
do you have wax idols and touche? wax idols are really really cool live, still haven't listened to the recorded output and touche is incredible obvs
Touche, Basement and Cities Aviv I think. I'm just not that familiar with any of them but willing to be converted at the show
cities aviv is definitely not what you would expect on that bill, haha. very geoff to invite them though
i have never listened to cities aviv but Touche is definitely a band that is riyl Thursday imo. Basement...well. they've got a decent album and one that sounds like watered down jimmy eat world so. will say those songs sound better live at least
Saw them the other day. Got stuck behind this dude who kept throwing his body back with full force into mine in some weird slam dance move. Every time I tried to move away I somehow ended up behind him again lol. Other dude kept slamming himself into women's bodies who clearly werent here for it, until some other dude stepped in and blocked him and told him to stop. Another woman got shoved so hard she fell onto the ground and I was like damn y'all I get that ur in ur hype and feelings but ur taking out women left and right here.
What?! Couldn't imagine finding Thursday now and having their full disography to digest. That has to be one hell of an experience
I think a Thursday instrumental album would be sick af. Didn't they have new songs written but not recorded when they called it quits or am I getting my interview Chronology mixed up
I'm sorry to hear that, I thought Thursday shows would be pretty tame across the board based on my experience (which is limited so duh). Hope you still enjoyed it!
Yeah it was weird cause I've seen them a few times before and it was never like that. Guessing just added excitement since they haven't played here in a while. I think the bulk of it happened during touche amore and then they chilled a bit more for Thursday, thankfully. I had a great time still! I was in the under 21 section and a bunch of youngins left after touche so I was front and center by the stage for thursday!
Oh true happened for me during touche as well but it was also p friendly compared to what I expected. I hope people chill out a bit as they get more active
Yeah I will say that I felt really grateful for the cool dudes in the audience and the women looking out for each other. Like when women were getting pushed pretty hard I saw a few other women trying to keep them up and giving comforting pats on the back like "I got you" and it was nice to see.
Dang are the pits for Thursday really that rough? I wanted to bring my little 13 year old brother to this show but I'm not sure if I should
I thought at my show it was pretty friendly -- there was a pit but it was like playful pushing more than punching. Might have been a little rougher during Touche but not by much
Yeah people were getting violent during Thursday I was honestly surprised. Also Wiltern has waitresses and they go down onto the floor with your bill to find you if you have an open tab. One of them was going through the crowd while Thursday was playing and the ending of Hole in the World kicked in and she got fuckin tossed.
